So Gerbil is slightly more intelligent than Hamsters like lor...
Couples know how to sleep together, wun eat pups and can live harmouniously... but will daddy mate with daughter too?

Couples know how to sleep together, wun eat pups and can live harmouniously... but will daddy mate with daughter too? daddy actually takes good care of the babies... some comments made by gerbil owners is tat some gerbil daddies are better "mothers" than the mothers themselves. and who says fathers are useless when it comes to looking after babies... and yes... gerbils can be incestous... so need to separate the babies when they are old enough. Epiletic siezures are common for gerbils which are inbreed.. so in breeding not advisable..

I wun keep them. Cos still very scared of their tail. That time saw one gerbil who escape from its cage in a petshop, i kept screaming leh. So xia suay.
I am just curious abt them, cos their behaviour kind of appeal to me.

I know it's a gerbil but i was scared cos it's very near me. Then i hurriedly tell the shopowner that it escaped... very pai seh.

wah liao... ;D the shop owner must be thinking... wah liao, this woman see my gerbil escape, scream and scream... aiyah... actually, u should really try to observe them more lor... maybe it might just spark off a new interest within u, as it did for me lor.

No leh... the shopowner even thank me for informing him that his gerbil escaped. I think he didn't see me scream. Only the customers around me.
The gerbil i saw is big fat and round... very scary... like the size of a rat, except that the colour is different.
I saw another type which is quite similar to Daniel's but it jumped and jumped... really makes a good gymnast!

Luckily the shop owner neber see u scream, otherwise will think u siao ya, gerbils are very goog gymnasts. must keep in a fully enclosed accomodation otherwise they will jump out. even with a wire mesh on the lid of my fish tank, sometimes can see them doing the monkey bar PS they are fantastic escapists too... heard that gerbils will attack rabbits if they see one. Anyone besides skatmourn can confirm this
