if its new water i dont tink so lor bcos the newwater mix wif norm water has started quite long ago so the hams now should be used to it already...or maybe a sudden allergic reaction to something that stayed temporaly in the room?

So sorry to hear abt this. I just read this thread and was saddened by the sudden death of 2 hams in a day.
She mentioned that she is using Woody Pets Chips Shavings which was what I used 1 month back. It was perfectly fine for all my hams. She is using Prestige which is what I am feeding my hams now and they are still living very well. So I can't see any reason for the cause of their death, unless the food turned mouldy or has expired?
Do U let any other pets roam near ur hamsters? Perhaps their diseases spead to ur hams? As hams are more vulnerable, they fall sick and die faster.
Placing ur hams near the balcony.... perhaps the sunlight was shining on them, and they died of heatstroke? I think there is a high possibilty. I always think that it's safer not to leave hams near the windows cos we never know when the sunlight is coming in.
Animosity, how do u know that Evan died from choking? I encountered 2 mysterious death before. I suspect one cause is choking too, but would like to know how to detect it.

my balcony is a distance from the sunlight.... cos my balcony is directly after my big door.... not like normal balcony that is at the side....
as for water and food, my 2 other hamsters also drink and eat the same food... my rabbits also drink the same water..........
my hamsters live on top of my rabbits cage.... my rabbit cage quite big wan and my rabbits very quiet wan....

Oh this is sooo sad. The 2 of them are so lovely and look so healthy. It is indeed very mysterious that they should just die like that. You take care Polarwhite80....
