I've never used it and dunno where to get it either. AfterI finish using my Plospan wood shavings, will most prob be interested to try Snowflakes.
1) Absorbant should be equivalent to normal wood shavings. 2) DUNNO 3) DUNNO

I'm using Snowflakes. Been using it for quite a long time already. I use it for my hamsters. Absorbency is average, abt the same as most other wood shavings. I like it cos it's soft, but I know some pp find them dusty or their pieces are too small. I buy mine from Aquapets normally, the biggest bag of all is really huge, can last me for abt 2 months. I only pay $18 for that one. But I dunno if I got a discount, cos I'm their regular. But recently, I changed suppliers. Anyway, I've also bought it from Pets N Stuff, at Namly before. I bought the small pack for a few dollars. Of course, the big one is definitely more value for money.
Right now, I'm considering a switch to Kaytee Chlorophyll shavings though.

Aquapets is located at Sembawang shopping centre (under renovation), another one in Thomson Plaza. But their main branch is in Bukit Timah I think, but I dunno the address, have never been there. I think Rusty & Emmababy know where it is, think they have been there. It's bigger than the other branches.
I haven't tried those with fragrance, so can't say if it's good or not.

I think pet shops want to cut cost and save space, so they keep cavies and bunnies together. Feed them the same food and only need to clean 1 cage. I agree that it's actually wrong, but they still do it. I think that when pet shops keep cavies and bunnies together, they generally feed them bunny food.
For me, I have used the big pack and the small pack of Snowflake before, and the pieces are generally small. Actually, I have yet to see one where the pieces are big. I'm not sure, but it's possible that your bf bought a different kind of Snowflake. Cos I think I saw 2 different packaging before. And one is of smaller pieces, the normal one I buy. I have never tried the other one before. So I dunno what size are the wood shavings in the different pack. It might be the bigger piece one.
