Hello, hehe, as some of the pp on this forum might know, I was actually searching for a bunny to keep a while back. I had 1 major obstacle though, it's my bf. U see, I actually kept a bunny a long time ago, a mini lop. Then, cos I became scared of the bunny, I rehomed him after keeping him for 6 months.
I was afraid of him cos he used to scratch me and kick me when I tried to hold him. I remember I tried to follow internet instructions on how to pick up a rabbit, but it didn't work (I never knew abt trancing during that time). When I placed him on my lap and held him, he kicked long scratches on my lap and kicked me in the stomach before jumping off. So I was actually very scared of him.
So I sold him (he was actually my first bunny). So now, I wanna get another bunny, and my bf was very put out with me. He protested long and loud and refused to give me any support. I have to admit it was quite a harrowing time for me. I tried my best to change his mind (asked daniel and puppy for advice, cos I'm definitely inexperienced with rabbits). In the end, after more than 1 week, he said yes. But he listed a long contract.
I have to buy the bunny myself, with my own money and pay for all her stuff myself.
I must clean, groom and feed the bunny all by myself, he's not gonna help at all.
I must play with the bunny and not rehome her again after a few months, or he's gonna be very, very angry with me.
I must clean her cage all by myself every week, he's not gonna lift a finger to help me.
He has the right to scream at me if he thinks the bunny is not well cared for.
I can only get 1 bunny, and I cannot breed it.
I was exhausted and I must say, very HURT with all these terms. Obviously, my bf didn't trust me with a rabbit, just cos of my previous mistake. Well, after much negotiation and discussion, he relented as in, he'll help me pay for her food and bedding, but the rest is still up to me.
I searched around for a bunny (actually I have a good fren selling a very lovely bunny, but my bf doesn't like it). I got pics and let my bf see them (it's important to get a bunny he likes, cos I'm scared he'll hate the bunny I get). I asked around, here and there and checked with other forums and pp selling rabbits. After a few days, run through with my bf. His comments:
"Yuck, so ugly."
"Why does the bunny look like this? Dun look like rabbit at all."
"Eeeee! What's that?"
"So black, the rabbit looks like a black lump."
Pls note that no offense intended, he's trying his best to discourage me to get any bunny at all. Finally, I managed to find a rabbit that marginally gained his approval. So I finally got a bunny, a female angora lop. She is called Bunbun (her previous owner named her and I like the name). She is quite tame and frenly, and she lets me carry her abt! Hehe. My bf said "Okie, this one looks not bad." When he saw her pic.
I think some pp here might know her or her previous owner. I have her for a few days already, and am very happy and relieved to report that she seems to like me and is very nice to me (currently no scratches and bites yet). I hand fed her and carried her for a while. Keke, she's really cute. I post her pics up in the gallery.
PS. I'd just like to thank all those who helped me when I was searching for my bunny. These pp were really helpful in giving me advice.
