I use Oxbow Chinchilla Deluxe. But still intending to change to Mazuri, but am considering. Argh.
Oxbow 5lb $21 Oxbow 10lb $33
Mazuri 25lb $82
Alice Kline $dunno but I think it's more expensive than the other 2 brands.
The above prices are an estimate, but I think I got it quite close. Cos I actually went around to scout prices recently.

i guess most of the chin lovers feed thier chins with APD hays and AK or Mazuri pellets.
For mine, i feed them with Kaytee brand, but might be changing to APD hays soon as their appetite for kaytee hays has decreased.
I spend about $10 for a packet of timothy hays and $9.00 for a packet of pellets per month. I also agreed with Clover that AK pellets are the most expensive one.

petchin>> I'll like to view ur URL leh.... im me the add okie.
Think the expenses of chin food are not that high. Since I have only one chin.... est. spend less than 10 bucks per month for the food (Hay and pellets exclude treats)

Ghost, Can you also IM me the link as i'm curious to view his website. I went to the Pet Chin Fair at Forum, the trainer told us that there are 17 types of colours. Therefore, quite curious to see what colour coat of furs he had. Regarding about the food, i have just change their food entirely and gradually. Recently i noticed that they don't really have appetite, therefore change it to APD timothy hay and Mazuri Pellets which was bought from Little Pet Wonder. After the change of food gradually, i notice that they love Mazuri pellet and APD hays more than the Kaytee brand as i mixed more Kaytee to Mazuri but they finished up the Mazuri one. For your info, Alice Kline pellet is better than Mazuri pellet if your chins have sensitive stomach. Some chins, after taking Mazuri brand will tend to have diarrhoea. Luckily, my baby have taken Mazuri brand before, therefore shouldn't be a problem. I also changed their bedding to paper type (pellet form) as Kaytee Aspen is currently out of stock.

Umm, maybe it's wrong for me to comment, but I kinda advise strongly against adoption for chinchillas. I've learned there are pp who illtreat them, neglect them and exploit them for money. Adoption opens up more opportunities for such things to happen. I think petchin has afro violet, black velvet, golden mosaic, silver white, beige and standard grey. I've seen his beautiful herd. Truly stunning and sweet. Pellets according to palatibility in chins, I got this from a friend: AK, Mazuri, Oxbow.

giving pets up for adoption has it's risk lor..if can find good homes then it's okie...but i tik Clover had some bad experience in which she gave her piggies foc & then she suspects the new owner tried to sell them away for profit...but we can't confirm that cos dun really noe what happened to the animals...but it's really sad.
