I'm wondering how you people define s good petshop?to me,it must sell things cheap(i hope),the animals must be in good living condition,& the service of the staffs must be good & also must have an average knowledge on the animals they are selling;the products as well....
Any petshops that reach that standard?

My definition of a good petshop is one that:
1. Does not sell live stock 2. Honest, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable 3. Products must be fresh and clean, and properly displayed 4. A wide range of products. Preferably exclusive brand that is not available elsewhere. 5. Help to rehome animals 6. Educate public on proper pet care
Price is not a matter, but of course cannot be too far from market price. If the products are cheap but hygiene and cleaniness are compromise, then no point.

In fact there is such pet shop. Exclusive products at reasonable price too. But too bad, the owner has to go back to USA.

Nope. I've called, left message, sent e-mails... finally, went down to their shop as indicated on website, the uncle (maybe neighbour) told me they have GONE !! www.urbanpets.com = they have a lot of stuff which are cheap and exclusive in SIngapore, but too bad, the shop closed.

It's just too bad that she has to relocate there due to her husband's businesses over there. They came all the way from USA with their bunnies few years back. And it's a pity she can't continue with the business here. She bring in all the quality stuff from USA for bunnies and dogs with very attractive and reasonable price.

my definition pretty much is similar to cottontail one..
i think it is pretty difficult to find a petshop that does not sells livestock leh.. at least those i usually get my stuff from all got sell animals.. perhaps it is pretty hard for biz to survive without selling animals coz i think the bulk of their earning actually come from selling of animals...
HOWEVER!! this is not a excuse to house the animals in horrible conditions!!! so i guess in the face of this, the next best thing will be a good pet shop must have good living conditions!! must not have overwhelming smell and it must look clean.. i think the best guage will be "if u are the animal, will u feel comfortable in the place u are house in?" haha! put urself in the shoes of the pet!

cottontail> i think the only shop i go too to get my stuff that dun have livestock is sundream.. i think there the hay looks cleaner and fresher and considering it is indoors, the hay will not turn brown so fast..
