Hi,
I was cleaning MaoMao's litter tray when I noticed that her poo has mould growing on it...the poo is totally not wet, ie, she did not urine on that part, the poo is normal, not soft or anything...funny thing is that the only the poo that is not wet has mould on it. A minority of her poo look smaller than usual though. She's eating and drinking normally...Is it anything to worry about? (The litter was not changed for 2 days...usually, weekends and on holidays, I change the litter once every 3 days cos she's usually running about the house. Never have mould before...)
That was in the afternoon, now, her poo is half its usual size, she's still eating and drinking normally though, but then in the past 9 hrs, there were less than 20 poo and they are all outside her litter box...she finished her pellets and ate some hay...she's not given vegetables now cos she's onli 3-4mths old. Abt 2 wks ago, my mum gave her vegetables (when i was in sch) then she got diaherrea...but it has stopped for abt 1 1/2 wks already.

hmmm... must wait for the experts to advise liao. where did u put the cage? maybe not enough sunlight, so got mould. really wonder. got check the pellets and hay? maybe got moulds also. nv heard of such cases. i think if still no reply from the experts, better bring to vet in case something really wrong with her.

actually im wondering if it could b the weather that is causing the mould and not anyting to do with the bunny.cos recently its been wet n hot at the same time.. so good conditions for mould to grow?not too sure also cos never heard of such a condition...u sure its mould and not part of the poo? cos if its part of the poo maybe its an indication that her diet is high in calcium? if she is eating normally n behaves normally(not listless, lethargic) then i guess its nothing to worry about, but if it persists and u are worried then maybe u should go check with the vet or at least give a vet a call to ask if its anything to b worried about.

I don't think so cos it smells like mould...pellets and hay no mould. She's still very active.
