puppy is diagnosed with fungal infection weeks ago... but under medication, the problem doesnt seem to work. actually it seems worse now. brought him to dr ling and she cant find anything wrong with his fur / skin. so recommended me to try vit c 100mg for a while. so worrying. i'm trying a new brand of food and he loves it. gained quite a bit of weight. even refuse to take the prev brand. i'm worried that the fur loss is due to the food allergy. if i change back his food, i'm worried that he wont eat it and thus lost weight again. i tried giving alfalfa hay to him but he didnt take much of it. what should i do? very worried about him, my dearest puppy...

I visited patjac today, her bun who is under detox looks very "sian" but the fur starting to grow & he has huge appetite. According to patjac, during detox, the body will work extra hard so they will feel hungry easily, therefore eat more. I'll get patjac to share with u more abt this detoxing products...she has been sleeping quite early these few weeks, so din come in to forum. I'll ask her to send u an email instead.

is it really safe for bunnies? i dun want to take risk 'cause i cannot afford to lose puppy. not ready to lose him yet. does she know the cause of it? has she shown this product to dr ling for some suggestion? i dun really dare to try anything from web just like that 'cause very risky. it might be good for bunnies in other countries. but worried that it might not be that good for bunnies here, due to weather and stuff like that. me very worried about puppy. very afraid to lose him too. if this fur loss is harmless, actually i dun mind leaving the baldness as it is, rather than taking risk trying products that's not recommended by vets here. anyway, maybe might give it a try if i really think it's safe on puppy. have to really think carefully about it. worried ah...

ya... pajero told me about that... but i'm not very confident about PMC products... as mentioned earlier in one of my posts here. 'cause PMC is from other countries (US, i think). they got 4 seasons, weather diff, many things diff... so i'm rather hesitant about trying. dun want to take risks... cannot afford to lose puppy. not ready for that. my rabbit expert friend suggests that i give puppy echinacea, vit c and acidophillus. see how. fur loss might be due to food allergy, stress, weather,... many causes... give him all these liao, see how lor... if still cannot, maybe will try PMC products... must read first... will only try products that i've confidence in. dun want to anyhow risk puppy's life.

Ok i think PMC is not harmful even if it doesn't work. Cos it seems to be made of natural herbs or the like? Dunno leh... but i went in to read, like quite good. U try ur friend's method first. hopefully he recover.

Hi puppy, maybe you can give APD timmy pellet a try. It has these addition ingredients that promote healthy hair growth and reducing urine odour which are not found in Oxbow pellet
Did Dr Ling prescribe anything for hair growth. Like velcote? Not sure if this product is still available in petshop. I have use it for my bunnies b4. Its made of evening primrose oil.

Hmmm.. i heard feeding pets with APD not very good, cos the pet gets dependent on it... ;D then after that wun take any other brand... even the distributor in Singapore confirms it... Sigh.... Better not take APD, sekali no stocks den in trouble liao...

Hello, I didn't see this thread til now. Sorry abt puppy, he very poor thing. If he's confirmed with fungus, have you been prescribed Sporanox? My chin and guinea pig had fungus a few months ago. I brought them to PRC at Serangoon Gardens, was prescribed that medicine. It worked, but go back for check ups, coz the vet will see if need to continue giving the med, in case it doesn't totally clear up. The vet only give me in small quantities coz Sporanox can be toxic if overdose. I actually thought Oxbow is a gd brand, how come the food causes the fur to drop out? Sounds bad. But I really hope your bunny recovers soon.

Are you refering to APD hay or APD pellet? Coz I have given my bunnies APD hay and I switch around with other brand's oat hay and oxbow timo hay and orchard grass. They don't have problem eating all types of hay leh

clover > dr ling at first say it's fungal infection. got medication but it became worse. brought him back to dr ling. she said cannot find anything wrong with him. so suspect it's food allergy 'cause i just changed new food for him recently. some members in HRSS suggested some creams. i called dr ling to check whether it's really safe and recommended for puppy but she said NO. so better not anyhow use lor. puppy very dear to me mah... more impt than my life leh... i think he's suffering from food allergy than fungal infection. will change his food and see how lor. also trying my friend's method lor, vit c, echinacea and acidophillus. think oxbow is good lah... just that puppy maybe allergic to it lor...
