i dunno lor... cos someone made a remark that it was okay if bunnies eat grasshoppers or bits of it, if it was accidentally in the hay they purchased... Like someone in the forum mentioned that they found bits of insects in their hay... was it you, Tuffy Buff or was it Clover So, i guess i wanted a 2nd opinion on this matter lor but looks like besides you who replied, no one else can shed much light on it... maybe if puppy could give us some feedback too... that would be nice.

daniel > it's clover who found insects in hay. the thought of bunnies eating insects GROSS me out completely leh. so disgusting. i personally dun think bunnies will want to eat insects even though these insects are the 'herbivorous' type (grasshoppers). my bunnies see dead insects on the floor, also nv thought of eating them leh. they are not interested in them at all. maybe someone should put some dead grasshoppers in bunnies' food bowl. see whether the bunnies will eat them. oh god!! that's GROSS man!!!

actually, the reason why i asked this is cos' i wrote to Oxbow about the insects Clover found in the hay, their reply shocked me... They mentioned that it was natural to see grasshoppers in the hay, and that if bunnies were to consume it, it is okay also...

Well,i think if the insect has been vacumn packed up & it smells like the actual oxbow they are consuming..so they, the bunnies just ate ate the insect when you mixed it together.Just like there could be some food we humans eat that are mixed with, perhaps some beetles, some worms or even some insects..unknowingly,we ate them too.Though it isn't really harmful to our human body, but i doubt it's healthy. The same goes for bunnies,i guess.

tat's why i wanted a 2nd opinion... incidently, i was quite shocked when they admitted this to me... and even mentioned that it was okay for bunnies to consume the grasshoppers...
