My Bunbun is moulting now. It's the first time I'm going thru this with her. I read that fresh pineapple is good to help rid her stomach of the hair. Any other suggestions on what I shld do? I brush her daily to try and decrease the amt of fur she swallows.

yup! it is impt to brush her daily to help her to remove her loose fur! i not very sure abt pineapple, but i guess if ur bunny is eating sufficient amt of hay, it shld be no prob! coz hay helps to prevent hair balls! my dusty is moulting too.. coz his fur got different colour one, he seems to be turning dark brown now!

Bunnies moult a lot,its important to prevent hairballs which could b fatal. ;D It is esp important if u have a long haired bunny(eg..angora,lionhead) Brush the fur daily to get rid of excess fur,its useful to wet the brush a lil of its a short hair bunny. diet wise, make sure ur bunny is eating normally cos if not,it could indicate a hairball problem.hair could accumulate in the stomach so the bunny can't digest food properly. so early signs of impaction of stomch is lessere intake of food n fecal pellet production. Diet.. Yes,pineapple slices should b good, but dun give too much cos could cause diahorrea..pineapple juice is ok too(depends which one ur bunny likes--have to trial n error loh!)...give more hay as well. I used to give Oxbow pineapple tablets as well. al natural. N they LOVe it loh. give only 1 a day..max 2 for long hair bunnies during molting. (tho they will BEG for more--dun!) can also use hairball remedy on bunnies too...but make sure its safe for bunnies n best not to anyhow use. A safe brand to try is petromalt hair remendy for rabbits. used regularly, can prevent hairball problems loh..its an intestinal lubricant.to help the Hair get digested.. they usu like it a lot too..

Hmm.. as in the tablets n real pineapple huh? well...pineapple is fresher of cos...n tablets like sweets like that leh..processed. i Know that time got some discussion on HRSS saying that a lot of nutrients are lost in the processing stage so i dun kno loh.. both high in sugar so dun give too much..maybe can give pineapple sloces or juice n if they dun like it then buy the tablets loh...save money also

can give about once a week when not moulting n probably 3 times a week when moulting. thats for short hair bunnies...and i usu give my NDs about 2-3 teasthingys of juice only...no need too much. but for bigger rabbits, maybe can give more..about a tablesppon? long hair bunnies perhaps can give more often dun claim to b an expert but i feel that moderation is the key here la.. jus give whatever u think is approriate loh. jus not TOO much cos its sweet. Rule of thumb....dun give too much sweet stuff even those with natural sugars..

If your bunny is eating enough hay, you need not worry about hair ball problem. Pineapple juice can be given once a month. Infact, the enzyme in pineapple and payaya does not digest hair ball. It only helps to break down those food that are trapped around the hairball so that the hair ball don't get bigger. Hay on the other hand helps to bind the hair and remove it from the bunny stomach. So encourage your bunny to eat as much hay as possible
