Just discovered that Bunbun has a small bald patch near her bum. I checked her all over carefully during grooming, but she has this smooth part. It's just skin. Very near her bum. Soft, soft one, and I checked her clearly for mites and parasites, cos I know what they look like. Dun have leh, I dunno why it's like that. Maybe I'll take a pic and show you all. Very strange. Is it supposed to be like that? Her fur is very thick and long, normally dun have such things. It doesn't look like fur has dropped off from that patch, the skin there is just totally smooth. I know when she drops fur, it looks very different. So I wonder what it is. It's a small round patch, abt the size of a 50 cent coin. Can see her smooth skin and veins. Very strange.

clover > puppy also got that weeks ago. now the fur is FINALLY growing back. puppy's bald patch area is much bigger than bunbun's. if u r sure there are no mites or watever, there's nothing u can do. dr ling checked puppy's bald patch many times, cant find anything. she just ask me to leave it alone then.

Okie. I've seen mites before, so I know the signs. I checked her very carefully, cos I'm scared if she has it. It'll spread to the rest. But her fur has no specks or moving particles. I brushed carefully and checked her. There's nothing on her at all. So strange. But I hope it'll grow back soon. lolz At first, I was pushing her fur here and there, from side to side, then I saw a dark hole. I yelled what's that! My bf come and see, say it's her bum. Then I said her bum is outside, under her tail. He said the bum is there. We argued abt that, while I was still inspecting Bunbun, pushing her bald spot and her fur around again. Hahahaha, he insists it's her bum. I dunno, but maybe it's true.

Fur loss could be due to over grooming.

lolz Okie. I try and take. Maybe it's really due to over grooming. I groom her several times a week. Abt 4 times a week. Is that really too much? But she is an angora, so her fur very thick. Shld I cut down? The thing is, if I dun groom her frequently, she still drops fur and it'll fly around the room. I know it's not her moulting season now, cos she moulted some time back. So it shld not be so soon. Think she'll moult in another 2 months or so. But not now.

I don't mean you overgroom her. I mean she overgroom herself. She maybe trying to keep her bottom as clean as possible. Or maybe some poo stuck on her long fur and she pulled them out while she clean herself. You can continue to brush her often to remove her loose fur.

lolz Ya, I guess maybe she overgroom herself. I think she is a little vain. Wahaha! Recently, I switched her normal small slicker brush, to a minimal rubber brush. Cos I'm scared the slicker will scratch her skin. The rubber brush is blunt and soft, so it won't hurt her. And it works just as well. It can't be fungal infection cos I encountered that before, and also know what to look out for. She doesn't itch, and there are no dry flakes. The spot is not reddish also. It's just normal pink, with veins. The skin there is very smooth and soft, like baby skin actually. lolz I see the bald patch, makes me feel like applying moisteriser on her. But I scared it's not good for her. Hehehe, it's just an urge to do so.

dun think medicine will cause it. should be nothing serious. fur will grow back after a while. maybe he scratch it while grooming. if u worried, bring to rabbit-savvy vet.
