Some of my bunnies - especially my sweet little Christina & her 3 cute sons - will poo SOFT & SMELLY poos in the morning. Does anyone encounter the same thing I have experienced ? Or, just my weird bunnies family ??

me think those are cecal droppings.. bunnies will usually eat them one.. they are waste products of food that are partially digested.. they look like grapes and stick together one rite?? i guess a higher fibre diet will help.. give more hay esp at night for them to munch on.. i find that helps coz my Dusty has lots of hay at night and in the morning, i dun see much cecal droppings.. those if there are, they are dried up..

Talk abt Cecal droppings, it looks disgusting! I dun dare to touch it one. Will usually pick up poo to feed my rabbit. (Read that normal poo also good for bunnies? ) But will never touch those Cecal droppings. Very er xing looking.

ya..some poo is good for the bunnies...provides vitamin B but dun have to feed them the poo..they will eat those they know got higher nutritional content.. soft poo could b a problem..some bunnies got chronic soft stools problem. can try giving JUST hay overnight n give high fibre hay loh soft poo not much use to the bunny, they usu wnt eat it one

After my observation, my Speedy and Slowy are having soft stools during 4am - 1200noon. Other timing is back to normal - round and solid poos. I really can't understand why.... They are on medication and yet no improvement. After their grooming session this weekend, hopefully. I decided to bring them to vet. I really feel the heartpain when everytime seeing them dirty their butts and bodies....... haiz.... will it be internal parasite problem ?

it seems like speedy n slowy are experiencing the same stool as babyg (as posted in hrss forum) huh? do S&S eat alot of hay? if not, wonder if it has anything to do with the intake of hay? cos babyg eats very little hay too!

As long as it is not watery, it is not consider diarrhea. The over production of cecal pellets occur when the bunny has too rich diet. Like too much protein and treats etc. I am sure you have make some changes to their diet, including using the probac adult rite? Have you tried timothy base pellets? Try to give them high fibre diet would help. Btw, how old are they now? More than 4-5 mths? If yes, you can cut down their pellets to about 2-3 table sp-oon each a day. And encourage them to eat more hay.

They have been trained to eat a lotsa oat hay nowadays - the only type hay I offered them. I have cut down their pellet in-take too. I added probac to the pellet, twice a day. Just one thing I didn't do is change to timothy based pellet. I have tried last time, they really refused to eat for one whole day. I really heartpain when I see them watching others eating pellets like bull/hungry ghosts next door !! Can even make sound and splash the pellets all over the place, like whole year never eat like that.....
I believe is their stools are quite soft, and these 2 lazy bums just lay down there and poo, and stick on their own butts and bodies, therefore so messy. I have tried my best to clean them, but ended up a lotsa scratches everywhere, did I tell you gals that I have already "HUI RUNG" ? I got a kick from my baby and left a 2 - 2.5" scar on my chin on last Sunday ? It's hurt and bleeding !!

They were born in Sept 3, 2003. So, they are coming to 5 months old. OK, I will gradually change their diet to timothy based pellet..........
