Ya, when the fur get matted for sometime, it kinda become very easy to pull off. Don't think it is of any skin problem coz I encountered this in some rescued bunnies. When we brush/pull the matted fur, they just come off easily. You can check the skin around those area of matted fur, if the skin look normal, then it shouldn't be of any worry. What do u mean when u say the nails very soft? U mean very easily bend or brittle? But my bunnies nail are very hard leh. So can't help u much on this. Is your bunnies playing with water very often?

like very easy to cut.. soft, yah quite easy to bend lo. he likes to dip his hand in the water bowl unknowingly. No worries i change the water frequently a day. But even his back nails that are not in contact with water also quite soft, both my bunnies have same diet, but hazel's nail very hard le, nut's one is very 'flexible'

ya,i think the matted fur is cos of water n prob pee pee......is nut a male? so far i think i only see the problem with male rabbits, tend to get matted fur a lot...but as cottontail said,as long as the skin looks ok,no scaly patches etc, should b fine. is Nut a short hair or long hair bunny? the flexible nails tingy......HMMM..sounds like my Biscuit. u dun mean that the nail texture is soft right? its jus that u can bend the nail backward issit? as if its like "fractured" issit? my Biscuit has always been like that since day one...her one nail on each of her front paw can bend alll the way backwards one.think that time chalet i show Puppy before..but since it doesnt bother her ever,i dint think it was a problem...if it does bother u,then perhaps can bring to a vet to take a look.
