Congratulations~ Treats are okie, but remember, must limit. Don't feed extra just cos she is pregnant. Limit to the same amount that you fed her previously. I'm also using Nutrical now, but only once a week. Cos some chins find Nutrical too rich, and may get diarrhoea. Remember to make sure she gets lots of water, cos she'll tend to drink a lot after getting preggy. Do you know where to get Nutrical? Let me know if you don't. Feed only 1 cm, once a week. I don't think you should feed her too much of it, especially if it's the first time she is trying it. Most pple feel that Nutrical should only be fed regularly, or more often, to either sick or preggy chins. Normal healthy chins should not be given too much Nutrical, cos they will eat less pellets and hay, and that is unhealthy. Does she sleep on her side more? That'll be one of the signs. Try to be around, if you can, on her due date. Normally, there should not be any problems, but there are such things as birth complications. So it'll be good if you cld watch her and make sure she is okie. You can find out more on the internet, about preparing for the kits. It may look like you don't need to do much, but it's better to be prepared, and be safe than sorry. Good luck, keep the mum in good health and I'm very happy for you.

So far I've stop giving her treats (& MaoMao too) because I notice my sis/bro/father sometimes will give them when I'm not around. All I gave them are Timothy hay / pellets / Timothy cube. She & MaoMao took lotsa water these few months coz of the weather. I know where to get the Nutrical but need to wait until weekend when I got the time to go Serangoon. Yup, saw her sleep 1 side more frequently. Wish to witness the birth of the kits & hope I can have the chance to take photos too

Have you separated her from her hubby? It's okie to wait till the birth of the kits to separate them, but you'll need to do so once she gives birth. Cos you don't want Papa to do a breedback on her, very exhausting. If you've separated her, and are confirmed that she is pregnant, then you can start feeding her alfalfa hay. It's good for the baby and her. But her hubby will not need to eat the alfalfa, he can stay on timothy. If you weigh your chins regularly, you should notice a steady slight increase in her weight. I hope you'll be around to see her give birth as well. Just to make sure she is ok.

You mean gestation period? The gestation period of a chinchilla is 111 days, plus or minus 4 days. They are relatively accurate in their pregnancy and do not veer much from the expected date by many days.
