Hi Peewee, personally i've tried Hobo small animal spray and feel that it doesn't help. Now i just use it for disinfecting the cage base when i change the bedding.
Brought my pigs to Dr Lenny Lee and he prescribed Front Line spray. 3 sprays per pig. Spray onto gloved hand then run through pig's fur. Supposed to be effective for 3 weeks. I feel that it works, my pigs dont scratch so much already. Other people may suggest Revolution which is used on rabbits too. It is dripped onto the animal's skin to be absorbed into the blood stream to fight the parasites internally. Dr Lee advised against using Revolution precisely for this reason since my pigs' case was mild. So it kindda depends on how bad the infestation is.

My 3 gps used to had mites problem. My vet used Revolution on two older pigs it wrk after few days. As my younger pig had parasites (Fungus & mites) the vet prescribed medicine & solution for him. In two week, he is cured with the fungus but not mites as he is too young to had revolution. I spray my gps with Hobo small animal spray every week after shower. Last week i bring all of them for regular check up, they are free from mites

Its okay for dogs & Cats still, but i would still recommend revolution or for a more natural approach, "Worm-Out" from Pet Medicine Chest. My Two cents worth

my piggies used to have some parasites...not sure whether those are lice or mites but its very easily treated. I bought those spray from the petshop...spray them till their fur is wet...then i blow dry them. I do this everyday for a week then i bath them. Usually the lice/mites are gone during the 1st week. i used to buy a particular brand for small animals which was very effective but i can't remember the name. I oso bought HOBO before but HOBO is not very good. I needed 2 weeks to get rid of the parasites compared to the brand i bought earlier.

anyway the mites are gone, didn't need to use anything but Front line need to be alittle careful on frontline. attended a talk by Dr Cathy Chan, she shared about rabbit's death caused by frontline. apparantly frontline is fine for Dogs/Cats (Rubberband is on it) but not for rabbits.... not sure about GP....
