Been moody n worried lately..............coz' Bunny pOO dislocated her jaw during nail trimming . She was lying on back on my lap when suddedly she just flip over n hit her right cheek on the floor! on Monday ! Went 2 check on her n shocked 2 see blood coming out from her mouth somemore worse it's 4 am . So i immediately called up Namly n was told 2 monitor her ....... in case she goes into shock n might die of heart attack! So spent whole nite checking her over n over again until her appointment at 9 am . Didn't realise that in order 2 see Dr ling ....... must make app. b4 hand . End up seeing Dr Chan , but find her just as good n patience 2 . She took 4 X-ray of bunny n i was told it's not fracture but 1 side of her jaw got dislocated ! instead . Dr Chan said not life threatening now but 2 monitor her condition 4 next few days incase she 've problem eating . As buny's 0ni 3 mths old , she thinks it's stressing n did prefer 2 wait n see b4 'veing 2 put her under anaesthetic 2 fix the dislocation . I was given a pack of critical care , rimadyl ( painkiller ) n acidophillus . At the moment , i 've 2 syringe feed her a few times a day c0z' she din eat much on her own n she olso 've difficulty chewing her favourite hay coz' it keep slipping out due 2 a slight gap btween her upper n lower jaw . Btw can a rabbit live totally without hay n instead on vegg. ? will it b ok 2 stop eating hay 4 a wkor 2 ? Btw , Dr Chan mentioned that some rabbits actually doing well without hay but instead fed more vegg. Any suggestion 2 get her eating ?? more coz' she's losing quite a lbit in just 2 days . I tried alfafa , but no much interest now ...... rolled oats ....olso so so oni . How?How?How? ?

oh gosh...tt sounds so bad!!! i think if she cant eat her hay then should b alright as long as she doesnt have diahorrea..tt her stools are stil firm n round. cos this is only for the time being right? since she cant chew....maybe can give her mashed up food instead? give her some sweet stuff n im sure she wil enjoy it. my god..will u b going back to dr ling for a check up again soon? how long before the dislocation b fixed?? cant wait for a few months til shes old enough before u fix the dislocation right?? poor girl cant eat properly..

Dr Chan said if by friday she's still not eating on her own , then 've 2 bring her there again next wk . But now she's eating bit by bit lor , but losing weight bit by bit as well . wondering what 2 feed her now in order 2 gain a bit more weight , if not think she's going 2 've more problem if too skinny n weak . Forgetting 2 ask her about wheather 2 delay the treatment or go ahead with any necessary surgery . They think she's a bit too young but come 2 worse ......might go ahead if it's necessary . The funny thing abt this girl is despirte not being abt 2 eat well , she can still hope around n do the blinky somemore !!!!! Any idea any wedsite 've imformation on rabbit's diuslocated jaw ....... will b checking the vet's list oversea later lor n hope 2 find a solution 2 it soon.

Hi geraldo, Sorry to hear what has happen to Bunny Poo. If she can't eat well you may have to force feed her. I found an interesting recipe form HRS web. You can stand by this recipe when necessary www.rabbit.org/journal/2-6/tusks.html Buster's Favorite Puree 2-3 TB softened pellets 1 TB cooked rolled oats 1-2 TB fresh papaya, banana, apple or finely grated carrot Put everything in a small food processor and puree. Add plenty of water until very smooth. Store in the refrigerator but set out at room temperature for about 15 minutes before feeding. More water may be needed after refrigeration. Make a fresh batch at least once every 24 hours. Have plenty of towels and wash cloths available for clean up until bunny and feeder get used to the experience. I will try to find out for you info on dislocate jaw later. Will post here again if I can find.

I normally get rolled oats either from Nature's Farm or NTUC Origin brand. Origin brand has organic one as well. Supermarket also got another brand of rolled oats called Sanitarium. this one also can.
The fruit i think is to add flavour. Put little bit will do lor since your bunny is so young. Othewise if you just give soften pellets, think bunny will not enjoy. Hope your bunny like this recipe.
Bunny can survive without hay. Don't worry. I have a 6 yr old rabbit who doesn't eat hay. And I know another 2 rabbits who are 6 and 8 yrs old also do not eat much hay. Rabbits can still get the fibre from other resources like pellets and veggies.

cottontail< U know what !!! me went 2 cook the rolled oats i 've now in a pot , oni realise it now that it's already cooked !!! really kuku kuku brain !!! But Bunny poo used 2 like n munch lots n lots of hay ...... n now seeing how much effort she 's taking just trying 2 eat it just break my heart ........miss seeing her greedy face buried in the hay ......kind of like taking away the joy she used 2 have munching n munching n ........haiz . Me feel so guilty n guilty n guilty . Dun 've any problem with the other bun except this 1 ....... just din see it coming . Me hope she like the recipe too , so far she 've no problem taking the mashed pellets . Wondering how much is too much ?? every meal like say how much ml n 4 or 5 times daily ? btw , i'm olso using baby's puree like applesauce n banana mixing it with the pellets . But some times freshly squeezed apple juice as well but in moderation .

puppy<Yah lor........ me now can oni pray n hope all goes well n she starts putting on some weight lor .
cottontail< just got the rolled oats from puppy a while ago . Got a sample pack of Burgess supa from her ...... guess what !! BunnypOO manage 2 eat quite a bit , think it's softer than the Minimal i'm feeding her rite now .
But can't prepare the puree 2day coz' i think the syringe a bit small n might 've problem feeding her . If me just add pellets n water still soft n easy 4 the slurp 2 pass through but 4 this recipe ( oats ) think will 've harder time 4 pass it through the current syringe me using now . Will get a bigger 1 tommorrow .
