When did my Life begin? My Life began 3 months ago. I wish there was no yesterday in my life Not so long ago I was still a cute little furball, soft like a cottonball You would play with me all day long and embraced me in your arms Soon I grew to a little princess but you no longer want to play with me or cuddle me I sat in the cage waiting for you patiently day by day..... One day, you finally came to me. I was filled with joy. Can you play with me again and cuddle me like those days? You brought me down to a small garden. The sun was warm and the grass so green. I hopped and hopped with great happiness. But as the sky got darker and the breeze colder. There was no sight of you. Which is my route home? Soon it rained. I was all wet and I have no shelter. Which way should I go? My fur were covered with mud and I was shivering. The cats chased me out of the bushes and I have got no where to hide One day gone by....2 days .... 3...4...5......... days have went passed and I missed you dearly I grew thinner and weaker My fur were thinning And my paws and hocks bled. I could no longer walk. I will just stood here and wait for you to take me home. That nite I thought you have came to me I was embraced once again in the warmth of tender arms I wanted to turn my head to look into your eyes and said how much I have missed you. No, oh but that's not you... where will I be led to now? I soon came to a new home. I was given a nice warm bath and I felt so light and clean with the mud washed off My bed is warm and soft and I have plenty to eat n drink. My life start afresh today I want to tell the world I deserve to be loved ~ Little July

Yeah, Little July is with me now. Found her at my estate last fri evening. She juz stood there waiting to go to rainbow bridge . She got diarrhea and couldn't walk. I have to use adult diapers as bedding as she couldn't hop into litter box at all. She is eating very well now and the wounds are healing. Though still painful I think, esp the hocks area.

Sean has a kind loving heart too, like you. That's why he felt sad seeing july's pics.
When I was there, one young lady came with a bowl of water and half an apple. She was kind too but she wasn't sure if rabbit can eat apple. She offered the water but little july was not drinking.
In fact anyone who walked ard the garden will not miss the sight of Little July. She was juz standing in the open area. Probably waiting for someone to rescue her. She didn't resist at all when I touch her and carry her. Perhaps she was too weak already.
Ya, I did give her benebac. She has finished her course of baytril. Now only need to apply panalog for the wounds. Got to fatten her up and hope her fur grow soon.
You can visit her. You still have my no. rite?

Hello everyone, Sorry for my late reply. Have been very busy lately. Partly due to additional rescue work for bunnies..... Come, meet Little July. She has transformed to a sweet princess now. Ain't I pretty? Ain't I sweet?July's fur has since grown beautifully and she has her bushy tail back again. Most of the sores are recovered except for the sore hocks. In fact it was quite badly infected that it has resulted into abscesses in both hocks. The swelling on her left sole is extended to the ankle area as well. X-ray was taken on 13 Aug and good thing that it has not infected the bone. She needs to be on long term anitbiotic plus I have to squeeze out the pus twice daily. She is now on double strength baytril for a more aggressive treatment. Hopefully the swelling can subside soon... Well, but I am still squeezing out pus everyday. It may have to take months to continue such treatment. Surgical removal is not a good option as these abscesses are on the hock area, too close to the bone and also lots of tendon around. Operation can be tricky. On top of that, the open wound can lead to more infection. As such, we op for long term oral antibiotic and application of ointment. The good sign is that she is able to hop and run normally. And despite her previous absue and trauma, she did not loss her faith and trust in us human as well as other animal friends. She is extremely friendly and sociable. She has also make her way and conquered the living room and spend most of her time there with my other resident bunnies (She actually has her free roam at the kitchen area but she prefers the living room). Well, of course she get chase by my other female rabbit at times, but Little July never fail to try again. A rabbit with strong perserverance. She sleeps like a piggy....everyday I wonder what comfort she find sitting in this position. Guess she finds this a perfect way to watch the world goes by....Her best friend is Uncle Bebe.... My way to say "10 Q" and "I luv u"

The above message was posted in HRSS forum on 3 Sep. Little July's sore hocks are much better now. No pus aready. Waiting for the scabs to go off. She now weigh 1.8kg compared to 1.1kg when I first got her. Little July was a special guest at West View Primary School on 4th Oct. A school teacher who is a rabbit lover, organised this school talk cum fund raising event with HRSS. The teacher gave rabbit educaton talk at the asembly while her students performed a skit based on the story of Little July before her presentation. However, I missed the chance to watch the skit as I need to station at the stall, thus, I didn't have the opportunity to take any pics of the skit. Little July was the central of attraction. Students crowded round her all the time to pet her. Many kids were 1st time touching a real rabbit These are special handmade bookmarks for sale at the event, with photo of Little July. All were sold out. After a hard day work, Little July came home and have a good sleep.....

Little July received many well wishes cards from the students. So sweet and thoughtful of them. July is very happy to know they care for her. Here are the letters to Little July Hello!
Little July! I've heard about your story. Your are so pathetic! Your ex-owner is so heartless!!! Well, how are your wounds? Have they heal? I heard that you are still suffering! Wish you a speedy recovery. Whoosh !! SPEEDY RECOVERY
Love, ShazalindDear Little July,
You are a cute, chubby and furry little rabbit. It is a pity that the bad owner throw you away. I hope that your injuries will recover soon. I hope that you will stay healthy forever.
From, Yimin Dear Little July,
Hello, Little July. How are you? I feel pity for you. You are so cute. I have saw your pictures in the computer. Little July, please do not give up yourself. You have so many days to live on. We have to learn not to give up ourselves.
Some fresh vegetables for you.
From, Chan Hwee Min Little July is a rabbit who has been abandoned at a field. She was chased by wild cats and dogs almost everyday! Tomented by diseases, don't you pity her? I think so, because I pity her too.
So don't buy any rabbit or pet. Go to the SPCA and adopt a pet for free. If you adopt a pet, you have done two good things: 1. Save an abandoned animal 2. Avoid reproduction on animals So, keep an eye when you go to the field because there might be some abandoned animals.
Writer unknownThank you for your words of encouragement. All the warm wishes have touched Little July and mummy deeply. We are glad to know that you care for Little July. You have also learnt how to love animals and to protect them. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
