I think this baby is a black velvet. He looks so much like his mother. But I'll have to confirm it again with some other chinchilla breeders. He's an active and spunky little dude. Full of attitude and spice.

Sorry for the blur pic. This is the last one, where I was trying to get a pic of his face. But he's just too fidgety. You can see the angry expression on his face. "Put me down!" lolz

Kekeke, of course can. I sometimes wish I can bring my chins for outing. But I feel they'll be scared, so I don't do it. If they are scared and stressed, then it's my fault. Ooh, like baby bunnies? I remember you let me pet that baby, so young! The light brown colour one. Keke, so cute.

Umm, I think it's abt 2 months old then fully weaned. He is eating some solid food now, but still suckles alot. He cannot be separated from mum until 3 months old, actually. Meanwhile, he'll be learning lots from her. I saw him try to drink from a bottle, but cldn't. Hahaha... Cos he alwiz see his mum drink cranberry juice from that bottle.

lolz Ya. She sneezed cos she can't get the juice out properly and wiped her nose. Hahaha, so funny. Chinchillas shed alot, but personally, I keep 9 chins, and compare them to 3 rabbits, I'd say, the rabbits shed more! lolz Serious, cos I can alwiz see the rabbit fur float abt after I play with them, but not so much for the chins. ghost, I just checked my chin book again. It says that chin mothers start weaning babies at 6 weeks. The baby shld be full weaned by 2 months. Then can remove the baby from mother already. But I wld prefer not to do that and leave baby with mum for another month, for her to teach him things. The baby must learn to dust bath, to eat different kinds of things I offer his mum and to use his paws. So I prefer to separate only at 3 months old.
