My chins don't get air con 24/7, they only get air con at night, several times each week, not every night also. If possible, I wld love to give them 24/7 air con! But my mum these days giving me pressure to cut down, so I do. However, I try to on more often for them la, actually. But definitely not 24/7. But with no air con, you need a well-ventilated room with a very good fan that causes the air to circulate properly. I have a KDK fan going 24/7, but am gonna add another fan soon. It's the one that circulates air instead of just blowing. It helps cool the room a little. You don't have to give air con 24/7, but you must make the extra effort to keep them cool still, with tiles and an airy cage and room. (Note. blowing the fan directly at them will not make them more cool, cos chinchillas don't perspire.) I don't find it difficult to take care of them. But they are fragile animals compared to rabbits and guinea pigs. Their limbs are small and can be broken easily with unsuitable cages and if they play in a room dangerous for them, so must take note of some things lor.

Actually, I got a formulated diet to fatten chins up. The problem is that it's expensive. It's a diet that can actually increase a chin's weight alot, within 1 month. It includes Vit C, papaya tablets and some other food to boost the chin up. And this diet contains absolutely no treats at all, it makes a chin put on weight using nourishment and nutrients instead of using rich treats. I don't feed it due to the cost. I can't afford that. That's why am unable to pump her weight up quickly.

I didn't calculate exactly, but I estimated that it's more than $50 per month, so I gave up on it. I can't spend so much alone per month just on 1 or 2 chins. (But I admit that last month, I spent $128 on a single gerbil alone. He had an operation.)

My gerbil, Mr Big, had a fight with his wife. She tore his belly open, can see the stomach muscle. I sent him to Dr Ling, and she did an op on him to sew him up. It was quite bad cos it got infected. Happy to say, he pulled through and is doing well now. But the operation cost alot lor. Ghost, thanks for the offer, but no, I don't want my chin sponsored by someone else now. Maybe if I'm starving or something, and really absolutely no money to feed them, then I'll approach others for help. It's just a matter of principle to me. I believe there are other many needy animals out there, and that compared to them, my pets are actually lucky and fortunate as they have a home of their own. I think that if you want to help, then help those other pets better. Mine at least has a shelter, food and love. Even though Caley is thin, I'll help her put on weight gradually. It may take time, but I think should be able to succeed as long as she stays healthy.

Wa, hahaha, thanks so much bunnylover! I must tell you that I really admire you too! Can take such good care of so many bunnies! Really very great and capable of you, seriously. Hehe, plus I saw the 3 HRSS bunnies you fostering, they all look happy and seem relieved to be at your home you know. They are all so cute, and putting on weight, gaining health. I look at their expressions, also feel so happy. Don't worry ghost, if I really need help, will definitely ask one. These days, actually my bf and I are not too stressed about the pets. I used my ang bao money, plus the ERS, to pay for some pets stuff and buy some rare luxurious items for them. Hehehe, so they are all doing ok. Just that Caley needs to put on weight, and Bunbun might have sore hocks. Caley shld be ok, I don't think her health got anything wrong at all. As for Bunbun, I've changed her ceramic tiles to thick rugs instead. Went to NTUC and bought 6 rugs for her to use. Haiz, I think it's cos she is overweight, so her heels are more worn. Luckily the other 2 bunnies are ok. I checked them cos worried, after Bunbun's heels turn red colour. But Flounder and Mocha are not overweight. Both quite acceptable. Keke, I'm out of topic. But want to tell you all how the pets are doing.
