An update on Caley. This lovely girl has gained weight! Hehe, am rather happy for her. She is now 600 grams and looks to continue gaining weight. Just that she is still not too friendly with me. Dang it. lol Got these photos of her. Can see her sides are filling in. Am excited, and hope that by the end of this year, she'll have filled out even more. I think she is getting to be a nice looking violet. But I'm a little put out with her cos a few days ago, she plucked fur from her baby's nose. She must have had a small argument with the baby. This naughty mum.

She looks like a nice mummy, but she isn't. Am quite upset with her today. I was feeding her baby, and she stopped her baby from eating! Am quite mad, I dunno why she is suddenly doing this. I think she also don't let the baby drink. Have since separated the 2. It's actually long overdue, but I wanted the baby to spend more time with mum. She was born on 5/1/04, so currently 16 weeks old. She is 4 months old already and weaned long ago. Will be watching the baby closely cos mummy has been bullying her.

Perhaps the mum is seeing her baby as a competition? & i heard it takes time for 2 hins to grow a mutual understanding to each other....perhaps it's the baby who is notti all the while refusing to listen to her mama lei?

I dunno, but I asked my chin friends. They said it's possible, that the mum wants to drive the baby away cos it's independent already. I shld have separated them when she became 3 months old, but I thought they cld be happy together. Cos 1 of my friend's chins, she keep mother and daughter together for more than 1 year already, and both very fat and happy. Liew. I brought the baby violet to the vet, cos she still wasn't eating. And... she has a fever!
I suspect mum's 'torture' was too much for her. So now, baby violet is on medication and living alone. Am quite worried for her, and hope she can pull through. I'm scared that she may succumb to the fever. Telling you the truth, am actually feeling quite angry with Caley, and also myself. Asking myself, why wld she bully her baby! And why didn't I separate them when she was 3 months old!

Baby violet chin wasn't eating so I brought her to the vet on Thu. She was diagnosed with fever and has been placed on baytril, duphalac (for p-ooing more), critical care and electrolyte powder (to prevent dehydration). Also giving her Heinz baby food, cos she refuses to eat her pellets and hay. She was really listless on Fri and Sat, but glad to say that she perked up more since Sun night. But she still refuses to eat her pellets. She is currently happily minching dried bananas and only likes Heinz summer fruits gel. She hates the applesauce taste.
Hopefully, she'll go back to her pellets after she has recovered fully. Cos I can't feed her baby food all her life. It's the wrong diet.

Ya lor, I dun understand why she just can't accept her baby. She is so mean. Somemore, you know, she recently tried to seduce her neighbour, Snowball. Hanako saw them and got into a fight with Snowball. He was banished to hide in the mushroom house while Hanako tried to reach out and bite Caley. I was watching the entire time. I felt it was funny, but later on, feel sorry for Hanako. Since then, she often sleeps near the side, where Caley's cage is. She is on guard for the horrible "woman" who is trying to steal her hubby.
Yup, will try to post up photos of the baby violet soon. She is not in good condition though. Cos of the fever. She has a slight head tilt and eating less. She eats her pellets and hay now, but very little. I've added Nutrical to her diet cos she is ill.

U take care. Sometimes how we wish we can read our babies' mind !!! Knowing exactly what they want, how they feel and so on ...........
May all of them stay together side by side in harmony and happy ever after .......... May Violet get well soon ...... May Bunbun's sorehock is getting better now ......... May Mocha & Flounder stop fighting each other and stop digging her litter pan. May Clover find her holiday job .......
