Yes, Slappy has been depressed for almost 2 weeks already. She is eating, but her appetite has dropped. She eats less. I just changed her cage arrangement so she is right next to Egan. She seems to want to befriend him, cos she feels lonely. After all, she has not been alone all her life. She spends all day sitting on the cage grills on the left, right next to Egan. I'm not sure if I want to pair them up, cos I don't want any kits. That's the problem. She wants a companion, but I can't give her a male. And my past attempts to pair her with a female were unsuccessful.
I dunno what to do. I suppose I can accomodate another chin, but right now, I hesitate to do so. I wld prefer that I have no kits at all now. Snowball and Hanako are still together, so it's possible that they may throw me a litter, and that's already something I have to handle. It actually annoys me that I have to face this dilemma. Argh! I can have Egan neutered, but other chin owners advise against the risk as sterilizing chins are not a common operation yet. It's quite a problem. Right now, the best I can do is let Slappy and Egan live as neighbours.

Spider was 5 yrs old then. Slappy is now 7 yrs old. A gd thing is she is going strong now, but has to be kept alone. She is still active as ever and I handle her more often now, but she doesn't really welcome it. When the other chins are out for floor time, she tries to bite them. Haiz. I miss Spider very much.
