star tortoises are endangered animals. they are not allowed to b kept as pets cos their needs are very different. a lot of inexperienced pple think can keep in water but star tortoises should actuallyb kept in dry areas. try giving him some stones as well as some sand..he should like it. but ultimately,i would advice you to surrender to AVA or to zoo cos wrong diet can also cause premature death. recently got see the news? got an indian national tried to smuggle in 499 of these star tortoises but got discovered, all confiscated by AVA to b sent back to india. ;D

I think that cherub is doing all she can to give Tito a good life. Cos I know a few other pp who keep star tortoise, they really analyse and research the data on what they need to keep the tortoise healthy. They even bring it to the vet they trust for check ups. I've read up what they did. Stuff like giving the tortoise calcium for the shell, anti-parasite supplements, sunshine, love and the right food. So I think that pp who are so dedicated to their star tortoise, with the same dedication we have to our common pets, they shld be allowed to keep their pet lor. This is just my opinion. Of course, if the person doesn't bother to do research and anyhow feed the animal, and anyhow throw anywhere to roam around, then that's bad.
