Hmm.. never heard of such things like skin tumour. Perhaps u can share with us more abt it.
I am deeply saddened by your hamster's death. Hope you will get over it soon. On the optimistic side, he is being put to sleep and he didn't suffer before dying.

Yes, it's better that he's not suffering anymore. What happened was that at first, he started dropping fur. I had changed his bedding to BC, and he got patches of bald fur. (Actually, I have another 3 syrians who reacted the same way to BC. Since then, I have switched the bedding back, but I'm trying a mixture now. Mixed wood shavings - which is their old bedding, and BC)
I thought that things wld get better after I changed the bedding, but it got worse. He started breaking out in pus and bloody, watery wounds. It's like those kind of scabs that gush water or liquid if you peel it? He got those all over him. It was small at first, just small holes, but they grew until they covered half his body. His face swelled up and blood and pus dripped from his ears. I brought him to see Dr Chan when the scabs started to grow bigger. She diagnosed severe allergic reaction and I brought him home.
For 10 days, I fed him antibiotics, steroid and good bacteria. He got a little better. Then, after I stopped medication, which is supposed to last 10 days only, he got worse. By then, my common tests were just around the corner. I stupidly thought he'll be fine, I'll bring him to see Dr Chan after my common tests. But he got so bad that one ear dropped off cos of the pus and infection. I panicked then and brought him to see her the next day. She said it's most likely a skin tumour cos he didn't recover fully. He cld respond to treatment, but not recover fully.
She advised me to put him to sleep then, cos he was miserable. So I did.
Take care, Mr Twinkles. :offered flower: :offered flower: :offered flower:
My bf was the one who named him and was quite fond of him. I think both of us miss him badly.
