Tell your bf, if the bunny is litter trained, not only she won't pee around the house. It makes cleaning the cage easy. He will only need to wash/scrub the litter box once a week. But if the bunny urine to the tray below, then he has to carry the whole big 3 ft cage to bathroom and scrub leh. Which is more mafan.
If your bf want to save cost hor, then you can fold newspaper and lay on the litter box. But put a grid on top so that starry will not sit and chew the newspaper. Change the newspaper daily then will not give out smell. Or if he wants to, can add a handfull of bedding on the newspaper also.
Just put the litter box at that corner where starry urine. She will know how to use it one. Then you can just put the hay on of the litter box lor.

Yah Cottontail, I think ur idea is a good one. Where can i get a grid? Most prob will psycho bf to toilet train her.
Anyway, will a toilet train bunny still poo anywhere? Cos I notice that Starry only likes to urine at a certain spot, but hor... she poo everywhere she goes. HAHAH!!! But it looks cute lah. HAHAHAHA!!!

litter tray must be at least A4. try to get slightly bigger than A4 'cause local bunnies are rather big. dun get too small 1. best is 1 that starry can go inside comfortably without any problems.
u can get the grid from serangoon north but it's not cheap. u can use bathroom mat as well. cheaper. pls note that the soiled newspaper will attract flies if u clear it often. newspaper's absorption not very good as compared to bedding. so make sure ur bf clear the soiled newspaper as often as possible. if not, he'll see flies flying around. very difficult to remove after that. u'll always find baby ones flying around. very irritating 1.

My Starry temporary din see her chew on anything except on a fake flower that looks like hay. HAHAHAH!!! So I will still be using bath mat. Aiyo.. juz bought leh.. if dun use waste money liaoz.
Ok will pass all ur messages to my bf. He was using newspapers days ago and when I went there yesterday, found that the newspapers were a bit torn cos the bunny bit it.
My basket is slightly bigger than A4 size type. She is able to get in comfortably. But when she lies on it hor... still ok.. but quite squeezy when she sleeps in it lor.

you can get those thicker/harder type of bath mats. The bunny tend to bite the soft type of mats. I remember seeing geraldo's pic got litter box with the bath mats on it. You can look see her pic again. Litter training not just limit to toilet training in the cage itself. It also means to train her not to poo outside her cage. If she keeps peeing at one particular spot, you can use vinegar to clean that spot to get rid of the smells. Otherwise she will keep coming back there to pee. Or you can provide another litter box at the area where she frequently want to mark with urine. As for poo poo, pick them up and throw into her litter box. She will slowly learn that all poo poo muz be inside the box also. Though some can be quite stubborn and still like to drop pills as they hop.

Hi Cottontail,
Starry keeps pooing everywhere she goes... she hops and poo at the same time. Like heck care one lor. Issit really possible to toilet train her like this? Cos she poo so much that I doubt she will always go back to the litter tray just to poo.
As for vinegar... just wondering if it will leave a mark on wooden floor? She pee on my bf's wooden floor and yes lor, always go back to the same spot to pee. Maybe i will not use vinegar to clean away the smell first will put the tray there and let her learn how to pee in the tray.
