Hi Bunnylover, it is never easy to find good responsible home for bunny. You are a little luckier coz yours are fancy breed. Try rehoming a local bunny and you will know what I mean. It will take months before one come by to say "hey, i want this bunny" Ppl give up their pet for many unreasonable reasons. Many times we hear ppl want to give up their rabbit when they move home. The reason being, the new home has no space to accomodate that ONE bunny. Gosh! I wonder have they ever have the tot of their bunny in their mind when they purchase the house. Just a word of advise, you should seriously consider sterilising each and everyone of the bunny before you rehome them. I do not wish to see history repeat itself to these bunnies when they are at someone else's hands. Meaning I do not wish that someone adopt your bunnies to breed and sell, or have accidental litters again. Why do SPCA and Animal Welfare Organisation keep advocating on sterilisation? To the extend of being criticised as selfish, narrow minded bunch of ppl. And yet, they have to continue carrying this mission. It is not for themselves, it is for one cause - welfare of the bunnies. Lets look at this fact:- What kills more pets in Singapore than anything else? It's "Euthanasia" - This "putting to sleep" of animals ends the lives of more animals than any other disease. Each year abt 800 rabbits and many other animals die from this not because they had any incurable disease to begin with, but becoz they were no longer wanted by their owners. "Euthanasia" has become the No. 1 Killer of pets in S'pore. Have you ever consider asking SPCA to help sterilising all your bunnies? Yes, they do offer free vet service for ppl who really have financial difficulty. I know you are not . But I am sure if you explain your need/ reason to sterilise all your 29 bunnies, they should be more than happly to help you. And you should also consider drafting an "Adoption Agreement" between youself and the adopters.

charmie, maybe u should try to convinve ur mummy..i think u will make a good owner judging by how kan cheong u get about ur Dusty! hahhhaha Bunnylover, call Namly at 64694744. Sterilisation must make appointment at least 2 weeks in advance one. perhaps u can do all the males first, cheaper. $60. for females will costs betwn $100-$120. Good idea indeed, but do we need to spend more time with the bunnies after their sterilisation? i mean it takes time for the wound to close up & heal, isn't it?how long would that take? I think this info is really neccessary for pple who are bringing their pets for Sterilisation, isn't it?thanks!

Thanks, Cottontail. That's what I intend to do, sterilized them all OR at least the male 1st. I do not wish to repeat the history too.
Will contact SPCA today or tomorrow to discuss this matter. That is no joke to have 29 bunnies sterilized at private clinic - $60 x 29 = $1xxx ++.
No matter how worst my situation will be, I will still accomodate them at my place, until someone tell me truely they want to adopt them because they LOVE them.

cottontail > I have called SPCA and they recommended me to call Animal Clinic. After I called, they charged 83.20 per male bunny............. It's even more exp. than ARC charges.....

Oh, SPCA can't do the sterilisation for you? hmm... that's strange. I thought they provide this service for public.
The sterilisation charge at Animal Clinic is more expensive. They have recently increase their price and it is definitely more exp than Namly.
Yeap, sterilisating all 29 bunnies will cost you lots of money. Why not do it in batches. Send the adult one to do first. And those that are not mature yet, do take note of their progress and remember to seperate them when they are 3 months old.
In case some bunnies are adopted b4 they are sexually mature, do get the adopter to agree with you to sterilise them once they are matured. That's why I would encourage you draft a simple agreement to get the adopter to agree with your terms. But I am not sure if this kind of agreement is legal binding or not. Perhaps, you may want to seek lawyer's advise. But at least, write it down black and white serve as a good evidence.

She said fengsui allowed them to keep "fishes" but not "bunnies". Kind of rubbish, isn't it ? Anyway, I told them I will take them back once my new maid came in next week. 'cause for these few days, I have no one at home during workinghours, and I have sneaked out during lunch hour to rush back to feed them and do some area cleaning for them..... ;D. Old maid gone 'cause she said "I human no serve animal"...

which country is your maid from?Phillipine? Actually Animals in Feng shui helps to prevent tragedy in a family.& most pple who understand a bit of Feng Shui will NEVER chase away animals in their home......cos some can even "block" Calamity......really wish that family who give up the bunny good luck.

From Indonesia. She told me bunnies at her country are meant for eating !! also they don't live indoor, they don't eat pellet, hay, don't have toys, just live outdoor, no matter sunny or rainy days, still keep outside !! Why Singapore bunnies are different, she cannot take it... and ask to be returned home by herself. I studied a little bit of fengsui when I worked in China and HK (abt 2.5 yrs) and I know that is only excuse to get rid of the bunnies. I went to her house last week and the poor 2 bunnies left in the "sauna room" while they working, means no fan, just open 1 side of window and have afternoon sun. So, I decided to adopt back my 2 poor bunnies, no difference of having 29 and 31, isn't it ??

cottontail>SPCA replied that they don't have the manpower as they have their own animals to attend to. Moreover, there is only so much the vet can sterilise a day.
It's OK, I will call Namly and check it out !! Thanks.

Ya, just heard from my friend too that SPCA do not provide vet service for the public walk-in anymore. They can't cope. No choice lor, you would have to do it at private clinic then.
