1 of my bunnies is 6 yrs dis yr. he's a crossed-angora. i'm worried about his lifespan. recently been spending more time wif him than usual coz i feel time is too short.
can i noe at dis age, wat r de health hazards dat i muz look out for. i'm scared if i may overlook his health conditions/symptoms. so far he's been healthy n fat n heavy. but he's not active these days.

zanas > it's like old ppl... all kinds of illnesses might just 'visit' them. i guess most impt is to watch his diet, make sure eating healthy food, give supplements to boost his immune system, make sure he's eating, drinking, peeing, pooing well,... that's all, i guess. being less active, that's for sure. as we grow older, we are also less active mah. hahaha... my local buck (who's the oldest among all - 4yr old) alr less active. if not eating, drinking, peeing, pooing normally, then must be careful liao.

de thing about my dis old bunny - he's my 1st bun. i was never interested in keeping bunnies b4 until i adopted him. he is de reason y i hv dis passion for bunnies. he means alot to me. if i hv de power, i'll never let him go.
sometime, when i play wif him i juz hug him so tight. i juz luv him too much...i dun understand y. i remember when i 1st saw him at spca, he bit me when i tried to pat him. he made dat growling sound. but after i brought him home n after a few more bites, he has become so gentle since.
i noe i shudn't hv any regrets...n i dun. but i can't bear to lose him.

Glad to know u have build a strong relationship with your bun,zanas....in case u didn't know,Paul,Luke & Elna are my very 1st hamsters too....i also never tht that i'd ever keep hamster....i'm a cat lover & was never a Hamsters lover before....i guess it's jus in chinese we called,"yuan feng"....or in english we call, affinity ba....& if u read the cemetry section of this forum, both Paul & Elna has jus left me....& my 2nd ham,King too....Elna & King DON"T trust humans when i had em....after being with me for a while, they had gradually learned the word,Trust.....i was prepared to lose em....cos of their age....can't help feeling sad....but life jus go on....i believe they also want Better life for their fellow hams too....so each day....i'm learning....learning from my Ham..... And it's only a matter of time that Luke will also go too.... Learn also to let go....i realise that it isn't really a bad thing if they jus go when the time comes during their ripe old age...it's jus part of nature...take it easy,friend....
