We've all heard about herbal tonic drinks brewed for the weaker human body... or too heaty, need some "liang" cha to cool your body down you know that red small "fruit" or herb tat is always used when boiling herbal soup, (think it is called hong zao, or gay chi)it is said to give good eye sight, I've a fren who mentioned that he gives those to his chins as a treat, and some other pple who have tried noticed that their chins have bigger eyes... hmmm ;D anyway, any one tried this? even ginseng root?

I think you're talking abt small red dates, is it? I haven't tried them as treats for my chins before. But maybe it's good to ask a vet's opinion on this. I also haven't tried ginseng root for them. I dun normally feed them herbs.
Oh yes, pet chin told me that I can feed them a certain type of bean. They love it very much. I dunno the name. But I've found this treat inside my hamster mix, for Prestige. Right now, I'm feeding hazelnuts, dried papaya cubes, raisins and cranberries as treats. I rotate the treats every week.
Also, if you intend to feed your chin rich food, or food that is filled with vitamins, pls dun feed them treats, I think the sweet ones. Cos it's a waste of the vitamin. It seems that it's something like when you drink herbal soup, your mum will tell you not to drink coke at the same time. I think the treat will render the tonic useless. Not sure if I'm making sense, but that happens to me at home.

I heard Gou-Qi-Zi is high in vitamin C and can feed them. Maybe also good for their eye-sight too...
