Angora chinchillas are new on the scene and currently available in US in limited numbers. They are not in sg yet (several owners have speculated that it's highly possible they'll die from the heat, with their added long fur). They look very nice, with long fur around the face, tail and roughly, the body. When I showed my bf a photo, he said, "Wa lau, looks just like a rabbit." Indeed, the shape is very like a rabbit, just without the long ears. They cost between US $1500 to $2500 depending on colour, gender and quality. And the angora gene is recessive. So it's more difficult to breed and must be paired carefully with a mate. Breeding a pure recessive to a pure recessive will result in smaller and weaker angora chins, as said by 1 breeder who is keeping them now. You have to breed 1 pure recessive, to a recessive-carrier. These are photos of a mosaic female angora. She is really beautiful. Courtesy of Chinchillas.com. Not mine of course, keke.
