yeah... wats wrong wif Oxbow?? i tried 1 brand, its Excel, but the pellets.. vv moist.... n my pigs hated it.
i used to feed Bunny brand hay from Sam Yick.... think its similar to Orchard grass, but too many beetles inside, switch to Pet Village house brand of timothy hay.

Hmmm.... wat did ur brother in law feed her at 1st? mayb she's not used to the food yet... U can try Oxbow Cavy Performance, which is for young pigs (up to 6mths old).... i feed Brown's oso coz my Munchkin from Sam Yick and they feed them that.... now i'm feeding them Prestige Premium, which is a mix of pellets n treats... they like it alot, but it's not advisable to feed mixes... better to give pellets.... feed her vege also.... but be careful wat u feed... carrots, romaine lettuce, xiao bai cai are ok.... my pigs love cucumbers.
Beans are POISONOUS!!! u got to check up some websites, i can't remember right now.

it's better to buy pellets, then buy treats seperately.... so that u can control the amt of treats they eat mah.... must make sure they eat the pellets so that they will get proper nutrition. are the seeds husks still on? otherwise the piggy can choke. beans as in long beans, french beans... www.aracnet.com/~seagull/Guineas/feeding.html#Veggiesnah... see this webbie...

Oxbow Cavy Performance 5lb $15 Oxbow Cavy Cuisine 5lb $13 Burgess Guinea Pig $15 (I think, forgot already.) I'm using CP and Burgess now. Used to feed CC, but changed to Burgess. Burgess Guinea Recommended Retail Price is $17, though some shops are selling higher at about $18 or even $20.

i tik Oxbow is very good cos it's Timolthy hay based....cos if they eat too much alfafa based food, there's a higher risk of gettign bladder stones....gotta go for operation. I fed mine Browns before & after i changed to Oxbow, i can see a difference in their poo. It used to be quite soft. Now it's bigger & firmer so i tik it's a good sign Anyway, Oxbow is highly recommended by many people so i tik it's a good brand to stick to. I tik Clover had bad experience with the hay. She found some dead grasshopper inside. It's quite gross but i tik it's an isolated case cos so far, i've never encountered this problem. I guess it's quite difficult to detect cos the insect is hiding among the hay so the workers packing it did'nt see it.
