My in-laws have a dog who has reddish patches of fur on her front legs. They really itch her, but flea treatments and baths have not helped.
Then I began getting places on my hands, wrists, and feet. When I was not exposed to her for a couple of days they went away, but returned after I visited again.
Everything I have found points to scabies. Has anyone had an experience with this? Is it scabies or something else? And how should it be treated?
Thanks!

To know whether it is scabies, you need to bring your dog to the vet for skin scrape test.
Other possiblity could be fungus. Have you tried Sebolyse shampoo? My dog used to have itchy skin for a long time, and became smelly easily. She was on Sebazole for long time but not working on her. After I changed to Sebolyse, the skin condition has improved tremendously after a couple of shampooing. She now no longer scratching and also do not produce foul smell

Thanks Cottontail. Did you have any markings on yourself from this? The places I had were white circles with red centers. Sometimes they did not appear until I scratched at them. I had them on my feet, hands, and wrists. This is totally driving me nuts

No, I don't get sensitive skin from this problem.
Best to bring your dog to the vet for a thorough check so that you can get the appropriate treatment for your dog as well as for yourself.
