On the way home after checking out from Coaata Sand today,i drop by to Pets Warehouse opposite Potong Pasir MRT....it's a generally nice clean petshop when i 1st went in.....but after having a closer look at the Pets in there,i realise that the shop actually belongs to Pet Chinchilla....cos they have many Chins & sells stuffs that holds Pet Chin's logo....also saw a few bunnies in their cubicles w water bottle that has no water too....the stuffs there r pretty expensive too,abt 15%-20% higher as compare to Serang Nth....& am also calculating how long can that petshop survive in that area....hehe..... i bought a small pack of bathsand where the shop staffs claim to be some volcano ash....at $5....phew....isn't it expensive?? well....all in all,i think i'll not patraonise that petshop again....woud rather go Serang Nth instead, even if it's very near my place....

lolz Ghost, that shop is by Park Chinchilla? Cos at first, you said Pet Chinchilla. So I was confused. I dunno if I mentioned this, but I think some of you may know my stand on Park Chinchilla. I don't frequent their establishments at all now, and I had personal experience with their sales gimmicks and methods to back me up. So I hope the rest of you wld understand. There are other pet shops around, I'm sure you can find better deals.

Sorry, clover ....shld be Park Chinchilla....think i type too fast liao....well,i've long heard of its BAD Name....i doubt i'll go there anymore tho,cos their stuffs r way too expensive.....since i'm so near to serang nth,i guess i would rather go there instead....as a matter of fact,i told the sale girl the things r expensive, she ask me back...."which shop u compare with"...i told her serang nth....she said "u can't compare w price of serang nth" cos there r competitions there".....i think even shops like Marine Image sells cheaper stuffs then them.....tho i still classified Marine Image(behind yishun interchange) sells expensive stuffs..... Guess they think they r Sam Yick....

Where r the other branches of Park Chinchilla? Is the one at Upp Thomson also one of the few branches?
I've never tried the Volcano Ashes. I've all the while bought Minimal. I bought WIld before but i dun really like it. I've tried a brandless bath sand bought from PetMart too. But i read from forums that it is safer to et bath sand with brands. So I've all the while stick with Minimal.
Erm... in future if anyone of u see pets with empty or no bottles, just say loudly " Aiyo... no water inside, dunno if the pet will remain healthy anot. Better not buy."

The chinchilla shop in Upper Thomson belongs to Pet Kingdom. It's a totally different company. They have much higher standards than Park Chinchilla. I'm not promoting them, cos I feel that both chinchilla shops are equally expensive. However, the quality of animals and standards of hygiene in Pet Kingdom is much higher. Plus, their sales staff are normally quite well-informed abt chinchillas. And they dun bug you for sales. They may approach you, but if you say just want to see, they'll leave you alone. Park Chinchilla are more business-minded. Last time, I got bugged by them to buy chins when I went there. And another time, I went to their Pet Safari branch. I walked in to see some chinchilla equipment, and saw a mosaic. I wanted to get a closer look at it so asked the lady to let me see. She stare at me and then she said, "That one is very expensive you know." Stupid mad woman. I turned around and left immediately. Fine, dun want to show me, keep it lor. Anyway, the best mosaic is of course, Phantom from Pet Kingdom!!

I have neevr been to Pet Kingdom at Upp Thomson road. My bf usually drove pass and I just saw the shop there. Clover, is Pet Kingdom selling any hamsters stuffs? How is the pricing like?
I have never been to any Pet Chinchilla outlets. And I doubt I want to go. Do u mean that most of their branches sales people are the same kind? And their policy is only to make a profit without much concern for pets? I doubt I will patronise them.

Pet Kingdom has 2 stores, their main branch is in Lavender St. A very big shop. Lots of chinchillas and equipment. Their other branch is in Upper Thomson. It's a smaller shop, which sells chinchillas, hamsters and equipment. Both shops are equally expensive. Phantom is the name of a 5 yr old mosaic in Pet Kingdom. I dunno if he has been sold yet, but he has been here since he was abt a yr old I think. He's a truly lovely chinchilla. But he costs $3600 due to his quality. Even after discount, he costs more than $2k. I begged my bf for 2 yrs to buy him, but failed. My bf absolutely wld not consider it at all. But I guess I can understand why, cos he is really expensive. Park Chinchilla is a tenant in Pet Safari. Pet Safari has a shop that sells chinchillas, correct? It's a branch of Park Chinchilla. Those chinchillas dun belong to Pet Safari, so dun be mistaken. Pet Kingdom does sell hamster stuff, but I dun think it's a good idea to buy from them, cos as I mentioned before, they are an expensive store. Their standards and staff are good, but the price is also high. You're better off frequenting shops in Serangoon North. Pet Kingdom wld be very expensive compared to those stores. Park Chinchilla has a main branch in Crown Centre. I bought my Slappy and her mate from them (big mistake). This is what I know from other chinchilla owners who had their own experiences with Park Chinchilla. They sell sick chinchillas to ignorant customers. Their chinchillas are ill-treated, cos they are not handled with care and gentleness, hence, their chinchillas are often aggressive towards humans and not tame, a fine example is my Slappy. It took me more than a year to tame her. They do alot of local breeding. If compared to Pet Kingdom, which is very different. Pet Kingdom rarely breeds their chinchillas. They import most of their sales stock. The locals that they have for sale, are mostly home bred by other chinchilla owners and then sold to the store. This is what one of their sales told me. In any case, Pet Kingdom has very few locals for sale. Their stock is really, I'd say 70% to 80% imported. Park Chinchilla does alot of local breeding. And I hate their sales pitch, cos I was ignorant and cheated by it before. Luckily, that was all in the past, and other chinchilla owners have given me very valuable advice.
