Hello, has anyone been to the pet shop behind the Yishun bus interchange? There are a few. But the one I want to talk abt is Marine Image. They sell hamsters, bunnies and lots of equipment. They'll put all their cages outside the shop, many nice big cages there. I know they recently opened another store, called Appaws somewhere else, selling dogs I think. I actually saw an angora dwarf inside that store, very cute. $350 but the lady told me the price is negotiable. At first I wanted to buy, but changed my mind cos I didn't want to rush into it. What do you all think of this shop? Have any of you been there before? I've never bought anything there, only browsed. Except for wanting to buy their rabbit, I didn't actually look at their stuff. So dunno if it's expensive or not. But I admit I like their wide range of cages. I'd welcome reviews. Want to know more abt this shop. It's actually near my place, but I have never been their customer.

Marine Image....i have been there to buy my 2nd hamster cage..... a Minimal cage....things there r abt 10% to 15% more expensive then serang nth....their focus i suppose is more Bunnies & Dogs....i think when it comes to Dogs & BUnnies, they r more or less an expert....i saw in a threads in HRSS that they actually house a Bunny & a black campbell hamster together....i also witness it w my very own eyes too.....i warn em several timesof the consequences, but they haeck care....but the campbells has been rehome...they also got their own house bunny in which is not for sale....the one w half his face grey, the other half light brown....a very unique & cute bunny..... My advice,i personally don't buy things from them unless really neccessary cos of the price ticket they put up.....if u really bo bain must buy....remember to BARGAIN!!! There r also other petshops ard Chong Pang area too.....but when u see the living condition of the animals there,u sure complain to SPCA one....a few other shops behind the interchange area don't sell furry animals too.... Marine IMage's Livestock r considered being in an above average living condition....but if u notice, they don't have beddings for the tank that house their bunnies....they use a plastic flooring w hole & a cloth underneath the flooring....better then using corn cobs as beddings for bunnies. From the way,one of the ownder handle the animals,i feel that they r animals lover themselves too....this r jus my personal opinion....there r also others who think likewise,hehe.....

I've never been to Marine Image and I always go to the Chong Pang Petshops one. Wah laoz!!! The shop is called 'Yishun Aquarium' or something liddat. The living condition of the hamsters can make u cry ar! They are being kept in really small and dirty tanks, without wheels! All of the hamsters look sian sian. Some look sick. There even pasted a sticker to state that a tank contains robos. But I recognise that those were ww!
I once saw that the Yishun Aquarium housed many gp with a young rabbit in a very cramp and squeezy cage. I think there is practically no space for them to run at all! The pet only has a standing space but not walking space.
Sianz... when i see the pets condition I feel so sianz... Their cages are also very dirty and dusty one. I had no choice but to get an ultra dirty and dusty and also filled with spider webs cage from them. Cos i need it as a carrier.
The lady even told me to use Cat Litter(not breeder's choice) for my hamsters. She said it is more absorbant. And of course, it is much more expensive when compared to the wood shavings they sell.

Chong Pang gd meh?? I remembered that got one petshop selling LOTS of hamsters and even got ducks the last time I went there.......very dirty and overcrowded conditions......somemore, the petshop man was very rude and impatient.......so I disregarded the place........but their accessories are cheap loh.....
Marine Image is which one? Is it the one where u can view the grooming area frm afar?
Anyway, I tried cat litter as bedding for my hamsters b4.....thinking that it'll save on the bathing sand.......but the problem is when the cat litter's wet, it'll clump together and form a hard clay......making it very difficult to remove........but it can be pretty economical if u bother to seive it daily.......so u keep the unhardened sand........

I know of a friend who's hammies has respiratory problems due to prolong use of cat litter sand lor... I advise you to stop using Tuffy Buff...

Marine Image is which one? Is it the one where u can view the grooming area frm afar? Yap,that's the one.....tho they sell expensive, but condition of petshops r considered above average....a minus point of the petshop is that they last time house hamsters & bunnies together....now u don't see it anymore..... Daniel >> I think tuffy is saying she last time try before....now i doubt she is using it....

I've read from the webby that hamsters should not use cat litter (not BC). That's why i was very astonished when they kept recommending cat litter to me. Anyway, I've never been to Marine Image. Issit near the comic shop? I have always wanted to go there cos I go to Yishun very frequently. But hor... since ghost mentioned that the items r quite ex when compared to Serangoon Nth, I think i'd rather shop in Toa Payoh petshop. No point travelling all the way down and pay the same amount for the same items in the petshops near me.

alot of pet shops recommend hamster owners to use cat litter sand, cos, it is inexpensive as compared to other beddings, not including wood shavings.
But as the hamsters move quickly out of the shop and new stocks come in, seldom have cases when the shop's hammies encountering any major health issues.

Oh yah.. i was referring to cat litter sand..
No worries abt BC Cat Litter.
I think so far, Only BC Cat Litter is safe.
Has the black mini lop bunny found new home? Or was it being kept as pet by the owner of Marine Image liaoz?

Sobz......sobz.....Daniel so harsh on me.... ...I never use liao....only last time.....but use once in a while as their bathing sand in a separate tank using Ghost's method! Back to the shop topic, the last time I went there dun even have a single animal inside.....maybe it was when they first started?? But at that time, the things they sold were quite dusty.......so just walk in and walk out.....
