Hi peepz
Got a question to ask...are there dogs who are afraid of dogs? Coz QQ(my pup) is very scared of other dogs!!! Is there a solution to this?
The 1st time she met other dogs is when my sis' friends brought their jack russell to meet QQ when she's less than 3 mths old. We thot she's normal to be afraid becoz she's a lot younger than the jr and jr is a lot more active than her breed.
But later on when she grow older. 4 - 5 mths old. She met with my cousin's 2 shih tzus...and she's really soooooooooo scared!! She kept avoiding them, and wanted to climb high high up on someone's shoulder, or the sofa, so that the two doggies cant reach her. The two doggies wanna make friends with her, but she juz keep her head low and is being pushed and pushed around by the 2 enthusiastic dogs.
And we realise she really can't accept them as friends, so we kept the doggies away from her. And when I take a close look at her and hug her, i notice her mouth is filled with saliva/sweat. All the bubbles bubbles sort of saliva/sweat around her mouth. So poor thing.
Is it that she really afraid of dogs and we shall just accept it and not make her meet other dogs or is there a way to make her lose this phobia?

uhmm, i guess coz u didn't manage to socialise QQ when she was younger? Maybe can find a very quiet dog to introduce QQ to... 1 that won't try to jump on her etc...

There are of cos, dogs who are scared of other dogs dun worry, QQ is very normal! She just hasnt been socialised enough! U need to find a dog who is not dominant or super active, bring that dog to ur place, let him/her meet QQ on QQ's territory. So at least the surroundings are safe to QQ. The dogs u let QQ meet so far are too active and enthusiastic thus they scared her. dun over-protect as well, leave her alone to socialise with other dogs and dun rush in to hold her up or hug her the min she exhibits any fear. Unless the other dogs are doing something to harm her, let them be. If she really shows signs of extreme stress then take her away but dun give up. Try again a few days later. Keep trying till she gets used to other dogs. Go from not so enthusiastic dogs to the more active ones.
