In Memory of "Ah Dog"Affectionately named "Ah Dog", this puppy was loved by my family and friends alike. I still have fond memories of how he used to run to me and greet me whenever i came home from school, and would also lay down next to me whenever i studied late into the night Practically everyone who saw my puppy fell in love with him, charmed by his friendly and playful demeanour. Unfortunately, it was this very friendly demeanour which led to his demise. One day, as he was roaming around my dad's workplace (as he always does, because he's an extremely independent young fellow), he innocently approached a stranger and licked him. This incurred the wrath of that person, as it was against his religion to touch dogs, and thus proceeded to savagely beat up the poor dog. By the time my father's colleagues came to its assistance, "Ah Dog" was lying lifeless on the ground. He will always be remembered for the wonderful dog he has been, and will be deeply missed. Here's some photos of this wonderful companion which i had with me for slightly over a year.

my dogs love to lick ppl 1 leh. think i better be careful when i bring them out. these ppl deserved to be skinned alive. Yes, please be careful. However, we also need to be sensitive to the religious beliefs of the Muslims who cannot touch dogs. Hence we should not let our dogs roam around. On the other hand, i would like to stress here that i have nothing against religious beliefs or any particular religion itself. That person was just one lone maniac in a respectable and honourable religion who took things too far. There are extremists in every race, religion and culture and we should not bear hatred against any one group of people just because of the actions of one individual. This is a website by an Islamic authority which states that although it is forbidden to touch dogs by adherents of that faith, to abuse and kill dogs as a result is also a sin in Islam --> www.islamveg.com/dogs.aspI don't wish for that person to be "skinned alive" too. He has made a mistake and i am not in favour of retribution, as it's not going to bring back what i lost. I just hope that he will never do something like this again.

why the fellow so bad 1? beat him to death ah? can complain leh. nobody saw it ah? must be v devastated to find ah dog dead... There were witnesses, that's why i know exactly what happened. But i guess, no point in pressing charges. It's not going to bring him back anyway. Punishment of the perpetrator of an injustice does not cancel out the sufferings of the victims. Besides, punishment is not ours to mete out. It is simply my hope that he realised his mistake and would learn to treat animals better.

=) very cuddly doggie =) i miss him loads Yes, i believe that everything we do has consequences, but i also feel that nature will take its course and retribution is not ours to mete out unto others =) Anyway, thank you all for your condolences its amazing how after so long (it's been almost 4 yrs since the demise of this dog) i can still picture in my mind how exactly he looks like, his movements, the way he begs for food, etc

On a side note, i'd like to make a request that if you see anyone abusing animals like how Miss Puppy and myself have described, please don't be afraid to go up to the person and tell him/her off. I've done that several times, often receiving responses like "siao ah" or simply dirty looks as a result, but we can't let others abuse animals in that way. Moreover, if we see children taking part in such acts (i've seen actually seen idiotic children using those fire sparklers to try and burn cats), the more we must confront them and scold them, because if they can, at such a young age, abuse animals without remorse, imagine what kind of persons they'll grow up to become. Its very sad to see cats with burn marks all over them walking around in HDB estates or in parks All sentient beings deserve to be treated humanely, and i don't understand how individuals can bring themselves to subject innocent defenseless animals who have not harmed them in any way to wanton torture for amusement.

I was almost beaten up once by someone whom I told off for kicking a cat. Some middle aged hawker... Some people are just unreasonable, and they are cowards as well, so by all means tell them off, but be careful too...
Poor Ah Dog was such a sweety... he will definitely be missed by all...

In this forum,i only know of a person who would "kick" back the person who "kick" a cat.Be careful of this guy too, because he will do onto you on what you do to a cat.
