Haiyo! My Maomao, obese campbell also kena a lump on his butt! It's around the size of a pea. Actually I noticed it long time ago but was very busy with a hamster which was sick and another hamster which has blood in his urine. And I forgot all about his lump!
Yesterday just applied Zambuk and put him on antibiotics. Hope he'll get better.
Anyway, i read a post somewhere and that post was posted by a vet. She mentioned that hamsters may show signs of ageing thru fur loss, cataract, lumps, etc.

Gosh... 5 mths is very young. U are making me worried. My Maomao is a campbell. He is only at age 1 year and 3 mths plus.
Usually, my hamsters who get lumps recover shortly. I am still worried because my Maomao's lump seem a little bigger today... like a bit acne... or slightly bigger than the size of a red bean.

Remember that i once had a ww? The very first male hamster that i had...he also suffered a lump on this palm and he got so skinny as time goes by and the lump just got bigger....no matter what i applied...thus seeing him in such a bad shape and suffering...i took him to the vet and put him to sleep.... His wife however, is still surviving and very active...they are from the same parents, thus i dun think is due to genes lor... I have a campbell who also had a lump at her lower stomach...i applied some medicine...that helps to prevent inflammation and infection, and she survived the ordeal....her lump was so big that it might burst anytime...but after applying her lump downsize very fast leh.... That lotion is actually meant for human....was meant for my usage....

Hi, human medication may help sometimes. My mom friend's daughter has a lot of hamsters and she usually apply a kinda yellow coloured lotion on her hamsters, be it on lumps, injuries or whatsoever. Most of the time, her hamsters recover from it.
Ghost, u may wan to try Zambuk. I applies that all the time when my hamsters have lumps and they usually recover.
