Yiyi did you touch the baby? U aren't supposed to touch the baby cos your human smell will spread onto the baby and mommy hamster will not recognise the baby as her own!
After giving birth, mommy hamster will feel extremely stressed and exhausted. So it's advisable not to disturb mommy hamster and her baby as much as possible. Meaning, you shouldn't even go near the cage unless it's feeding time.
So now how many pups are left? 1 or 2? I'd usually use a sp00n to pick up the pup(baby) and place it near mommy when mommy is resting/sleeping. This is done because mommy wouldn't like us to touch her baby too! Mommy will tend to be over protective on their pups and will not hesitate to eat their own pups if they feel that the lives of their pups are being threatened.
Since your mommy ham just gave birth, she may also need a lot of nutritious food for her health sake and also to allow her to produce more milk for the babies. I'd suggest that u feed her cheese, egg white, egg tofu, milk, hamsters yogurts, etc. Dun have to feed her with all that I've mentioned. Just feed her 1 or 2 can liaoz.
Yiyi, you dun have to worry if the mommy is feeding her baby anot. Mommy may not be feeding her babies ALL the time. She needs some kopi break also. But if she has decided not to feed her baby anymore, there's also nothing much you can do. Cos if u bring her baby near her everytime and especially when she saw it, you'll only agitate her more.
My advise is to leave them alone unless u are going to feed them.
Btw, is your papa hamster irritating the mommy? Or is he threatening the life of his pups? If so, it's better to remove him from the cage. But if you notice that he is actually helping to take care of the baby, like frequently go over to the baby and look at it, then just leave him in the cage lor.
But I am just worried that ur mama hamster may get preggy again soon after this labour. By then, your mama hamster's life may be at risk cos she has given birth consecutively. This is again a 50-50 case lah. Some mama hamster survive on consecutive birth, some dun.

Oh dear, this does not sound good. Robo moms are quite crazy..... I mean they can lose their maternal instinct. OK, this is what I suggest : keep cage in a darkened, quiet place. Then put lots of shredded tissue inside. So Mom and baby can be completely covered by the "mountain" of tissue. Then let them be. Also if possible remove Dad, but not remove mom. Mom and baby needs to be in the same old cage with the same old smells. The most impt thing is not to disturb mom and baby. Until baby grow fur. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

Hi Yiyi,
Pls remember that u shld never touch a hamster baby with bare hands. I know you've did it this time. But you will be better prepared when ur hamsters give birth in future.
What Juwel said is right. Pls tear some tissue papers/toilet papers and give it to your mommy hamster. She needs it to make a nest for her baby and herself. This is also used to keep her baby warm.
You should actually take out robo daddy and leave mommy with baby in the cage, instead of transferring mommy with baby into another box. You are only causing stress to mom and is endangering the life of hamster baby.
Since u have already transferred them into a box, just leave them there. And do remember not to change anything now. Leave the beddings for 2 weeks or until you see the baby open its eyes. U may change part of the beddings but make sure your mommy hamster didn't see it or is not irritated with your act. If you are not confident, then just leave the bedding there until baby open his eyes. DO NOT change the beddings entirely at one go before baby open his eyes.
I am a very kiasu person. When my hamster mommy gave birth, I didn't go near her cage. And when it's feeding time, I usually wait for mommy to sleep before I put the food in. Or I'd just quickly throw the food in and run away so that mommy ham will not get irritated with my presence. Hahaha!!!
Yiyi, maybe u shld stop feeding the baby hamster with human milk. We never know if the baby hamster is allergic to the milk u fed him and even if he isn't allergic, there is a high chance that he may not survive with human milk alone. Mommy's milk is still a MUST!
Just leave mommy alone with baby. Mommy already show that she cares for her baby by keeping it warm when she puts her baby below her body. This is a very good sign! Her baby may be drinking her milk from below and u may not notice it. So stop worrying that much. Mommy will noe when to feed and when not to. Cos my hamster mommy will also be like this---- run away when baby wanna drink her milk. But when it's feeding time, she will automatically go gather all her children.
If u want this robo baby to survive, the only method is to
1) Leave mommy ham with baby ALONE--- dun always go peep at them lahz.
2) Feed mommy with nutritious food like what I suggested in my previous post.
3) DO NOT touch the baby anymore no matter what or how urgent it is! If u must, use a sthingy to scoop up the baby instead, not with your bare hands.

Hi Yiyi, Glad that u care so much for your hamsters! Pls make sure the yogurts are hamsters' yogurts and not human ones. And make sure that the egg tofu is raw, and not cooked ones. Yah you did the right thing by not bringing mommy out for a walk walk. Let her rest more inside her cage lor so she has more energy to feed baby mah. Kekeke... Seems like your robo mommy's relationship with u is very close huh? Cos U even mentioned that she wants u to bring her out. From what I read, it seems that owners always have a difficult time holding their robo, but yours actually come to u and want u to carry her instead. So cute! It's alright when baby scream cos babies usually like the attention from mommy. My hamster's pups also screamed when they smell me near them, then mommy would immediately rush to see what happened. Sometimes they scream cos they are hungry also. Theyscream for many things lah. So dun have to worry abt that. Ok, shall wait for you to take pics and show us your hamsters. I love syrian hamsters too! They will grow up to be very tamed and I think they are the most intelligent hamsters!

Gosh! That's a very sad case.
If u really want pups, just let mommy rest for a few months then try to intro mommy with daddy again. It's mommy's first labour also, she may not be experienced enough to cope with the situation.
Just read up more on hamsters' pregnancy and I think you will get pups soon. Dun feel sad Yiyi. Look on the bright side!

Could it be because she felt threaten by your presence?Another reason is because she may have known that the baby hamsters may not be able to grow up healthyly or would not be able to survive for long?
