puroland > ya... i heard about the news too... just happened recently... it's really luck lor. the bunnies allergic to that anaesthetic. cannot blame anyone. this is the risk we have to take lor. that's why i never bring puppy for the op 'cause i cannot afford to take that risk... if u still having 2nd thoughts or really dun feel like bringing mickey there, then dun bring lor. just need to create space for him. cannot live together with the rest.

Ghost: U can check out the pictures at photos.yahoo.com/bc/puroland/lst?.dir=/Babies+Bunnies&.src=ph&.order=&.view=t&.done=http%3a//photos.yahoo.com/Just added some pict of the babies recently! Puppy: I am having second thought liao, i think i would cancel the appointment... currently they are staying separately... just that mickey seems to be bored to stay alone... but if allowing them to stay together will cause babies! so i guess maybe let them stay separately for the time being and let them out to play under supervision first... wanna think twice again on the issue of bringing mickey to the vet...

letting out to play... u must really be very careful 'cause u r risking the chance of pregnancy. worried that ur bunny will feel lonely staying alone? what i do is to play with them more often... make them feel that u r their companion. that's what i did with puppy... everytime i see him, i call his name, talk to him, play with him... soon he'll treat u as his companion. then everytime he comes out, he'll definitely look for u...
if u have space constraint, it's better that u fix one of them. but if they havent been staying together, u might need some time to bond them together. fixed bunnies should be able to stay together but also depends on individual.

The articles are disgusting...i am also having second thoughts about neutering and spaying my bunnies....are they going to shave of their fur that are near the operation area first? If i dun want to let them undergo that...when should i separate them?

once they reach puberty (ie. when the bucks start to have 'balls' or start mounting), it's better to separate. they are going to shave but the fur will grow back. if u dun plan to breed them, it's better to fix them so that they wont need to suffer in future. they'll be happier in future, if u fix them (ie. if not going to breed them). it's scary but if u consider long run, it's really worth it. ur buns will appreciate that u brought them for sterilization. my 2 locals recovered within days and i still remembered the difference in temperament and mood. now they are so happy and loving together.

I saw the spaying article...my god, I shldn't have clicked on the link. Feel sick now. Bleahz. Umm, I dun intend to breed my Bunbun, think my bf will throw a fit if I try and ask him if I can breed her. I was thinking of sending her for spaying, but not yet, maybe later in the yr?
May I know how much it costs at Namly Animal Clinic?

The vet won't shave off all the hair at the tummy. Only a small area for female lah, and male bun no need to shave at all. The vet only take out something inside the testicles.
The pictures in that link probably want to give a better view that's why shave off the entire lower body fur.

namly clinic's charges (if still no change): neutering (for buck) $60 spaying (for doe) $90 the area of fur that'll be cut away is about slightly smaller than palm size. it'll grow back very soon 1. nothing to worry about it. when i brought my 2 locals for sterilization, i dunno the process. but after seeing my buck, i somehow knew what they did to him. but not for my doe. frankly speaking, the feeling wont be great lor. u'll feel very guilty and awful. but this feeling will be gone within days. and u'll be happy that u sterilised them. make life easier for urself and the buns too.

all surgeries will be painful lor. same as human mah. be it male or female, do surgeries all pain 1 mah. just depends on whether whose tolerance level is higher. for bunnies, they got strong fighting spirit. so they usually will recover within days. my local doe recovered almost same time as my local buck.

My male rabbits can play within the same day of their operation. Infact when I went to pick them up at the clinic, the 2 boy boy were playing in the room liao. That were my 1st 2 bunnies and I thought they have not been neutered yet. But when they reached home, they rested for the rest of the day.

Is it better to get my doe and buck go for the operations at the same time? And as they have to be separated after the operation...one has to stay in the carrier for few days...and not to carry them to often...then how to clean (when pee and poo) and feed water? Having second thoughts about neutering and spaying as thinking of keeping the bloodline...
