Am very sad as i type this n crying...
This morning woke up to see Pearl with head tilt. Her head is slanted to one side n she's jerking her head periodically. :-XHer eyes are lolling around n when i picked her up out of the cage,i got an even bigger shock. She couldnt walk properly n is stumbling to one side tho she keep stretching her head up to look up....make her look as if her head is going to snap off.
I panick n jus kept crying. I left my hp with my fren the previous night so couldnt remember ANY numbers of my friends to call..only remembered Haniman's number n he was at work. Called up Namly, forgot they are closed on Thurs. Nonetheless,i called emergency line n left my house number. It was like the longest wait. Finally, Dr Chan called me n told me that Dr Ling is off n asked me to bring Pearl in ASAP. I whisked Pearl off in the carrier.....only to hop into a cab where the STUPID uncle is SUPER blur n is worse in road directions than me.
After examination,Pearl's ears were seen to have a ot of wax n black flecks, cause was not known.could b mites, infection. Head tilt COULD also b caused by trauma to the head(oh dear,i hope it's not cos i put the hammies cages on top of her cage).Dr Chan administered dex, baytril, revolution small,Pred n penacur to her. These are to kill any mites, worms n also cure any infection..cos head tilt is a manifestation of other problems in her..so to sure head tilt HAVE to cure whatever it was caused it in the first place.
Now am given penacur,Pred,Baytril to feed to her daily.. also given Critical Care to feed to her in the case she doesnt eat anything. Cleaned her cage when i came back, took out all the toys n put in a flat food bowl, lowered her water bottle so as to make it all more assessible for her. She's jus sitting quietly in a corner n she was always like that so i dun know if she's feelin ok.Dr Chan said that she is not feeling any pain as for head tilt rabbits....but is dizzy n confused.. at least now she stopped her jerking motions. jus cut some carrots n vegs into tiny pieces n left in front of her but she isnt eating.. wil feed her the critical care at 3pm if she stil doent eat by then...
its so sad n so shocking.a lot of emotional distress for me. Cos i have never heard of any cases where bunnies survive head tilt n was reading on this website that head tilt jus comes suddenly, without any warning. Moreover, the site also states thateven if they do survive, the recovery path is long n tedious.. and 99% of them suffers a relapse.
why must this happen to her? i cant eat n i cant sleep..i cant even think properly anymore
