Hello everyone, I'm posting this here, cos most of you know my beloved Chloe and like her very much too. It's Thursday morning. Last night, my bf forgot to lock her cage properly. He closed the door to the pets room and we went to sleep. We slept at 1am, cos we only got home at 12 midnight. We had gone to meet a friend abt a part-time job opportunity in Suntec City.
This morning, at 6.30am, we went to switch off the air-con and open the windows for the pets room. We alwiz leave the window ajar so that besides air-con, the room is not stuffy. Chloe was gone. She had disappeared. We searched the whole room, under cages, behind shelves. We called and called, and we panicked. She was just not there. There was only 1 exit, the window. We were really scared then, cos she was not on the ledge when we looked. We ran downstairs.
We walked around the bushes below my 10th floor flat, and called and called. We didn't know where she is. She had disappeared. She cld have fallen to a lower floor, eg. 7th or 9th floor, and gone inside the person's house cos each floor had a little ledge roof sticking out. It's the way the new flats in my area are. By then, my bf was late for work. He was wracked with guilt and both of us were full of fear. We were afraid she was injured badly, but where was she? We were afraid she was healthy and okie, but had been taken away by someone else.
Where in the world did a cat go, when she jumped out a 10th floor window? I told my bf to go to work, cos he's an air force regular, his superior was not gonna be happy that he didn't go to work cos of a cat. My bf asked me to go to school but I just cldn't. I continued searching alone. Between 7am and 8am plus, I knocked on almost every door in my block, searching for her. No one had seen her or taken her in.
I was terrified by then and wanted to cry already. I called ghost, but he didn't answer. I called daniel, and he suggested posters and told me to calm down. I printed out a pic of her and continued walking around the estate, asking pp who passed by, if they have seen her. Nobody had. She was gone.
I went to stand below my pets room window again, near the bushes, I was really gonna breakdown already. It was almost 10am. I continued calling her name, just standing there. I think pp think I'm crazy. Then I walked forward, and saw something white flinch in the bushes! I yelled her name and started crawling on my knees. She was there! She was lying in the bushes, there were ants crawling on her and she was hurt! She had heard me but she cldn't mew to tell me! My bf and I had walked past her dozens of times, and we hadn't seen her in the bushes! I was so relieved to find her, then started panicking again, cos I realised she's badly hurt! She had fallen 10 storeys and was lying where she had fallen for hours!
I was crying already. I carried her and rushed upstairs. I asked my mum's fiance to send me to the vet, he was at our place. He agreed and brought me out immediately. I brought her to the vet in Sembawang road. This vet is her vet that I use, been seeing her for vaccinations and everything. He checked her carefully using his hands, watched her walk and felt her body all over. He didn't use an x-ray (do you think he shld have?) He said he felt no bones were broken. But her head was swollen, she probably hit her head when she fell. She had a concussion and was in shock.
She had a painful cut on her chin but that was superficial. Her breathing concerned him cos it was laboured. Suggesting lung congestion and injury. She walked normally, and my vet says that her legs shld be fine. He wanted her on a drip and hospitalised for a day. I was reluctant to part with her. I asked if I cld nurse her at home instead cos I really wanted to stay with her. School cld just rot for all I care.
He admitted that's possible. He gave her 2 injections, 1 for shock, another for inflammation. He gave me a high calorie paste to use as she prob dun want to eat. Plus an antibiotic powder for her cuts. And an antibiotic to take orally tonight. He asked me to come back if she gets worse and I agreed. If anything happens, I'll definitely be back asap. I just want to be with her, dun want to part.
So I brought her home and placed her in her cage. I actually wanted to keep her in my bed, but am not sure if she's more relieved in her cage or in my bed. I wanted her to relax totally. She needed water and I tried to syringe feed her cos she dun want to drink from her bowl. I fed her only a little bit but she struggled and scratched me. I didn't push anymore cos when she panicked, her breathing got worse. So I'm staying at home with her today and watching her. I have school tmr till late afternoon. No one will be at home to watch her. But today will be crucial, so at least I have today.
My dear friends, I still feel afraid. I'm not sure if her injuries are actually worse than the vet said, but she's alive. She fell 10 storeys, and she's alive. I just thank god for that. I hope she'll recover fully. She is resting now. I love her so much and am so relieved that her guardian angel let me find her in the bushes. If I had given up and gone to school, I think I wld have been too late.
