1st of all,i wonder how u define a unhealthy Bun....& also wondering how old is this bun too?? When adopted an animals,be prepared for the animals to bring in any unhappiness, like sickness etc etc....no matter how unhealthy this bun is,if your frens have the knowledge & heart to commiting to take good care of it,go ahead & adopt.... If one were to love his/her pets, they will in turn bring many joys to the owner.... Hope Bunny lovers here will help give some quality advice....thanks! Jellybean >> Pls provide more details for the pple here to judge on the bunny pics u post too....thanks! Eg. parentage, age & gender....

jellybean > pls read what ghost had mentioned. we cant advise anything at all, with the little info u've provided. cant judge from the pics either. there are many types of lops...
please let ur fren know what ghost has said. if she doesnt have knowledge on keeping buns, esp young ones, DO NOT ADOPT. it's as good as killing the bun.
also, if she is adopting from some home breeders, u might want to ask around to see if this breeder is a responsible 1 or not. usu 1 who really love pets wont let go the buns at such young age.

I guess he/she is only +/- 4 wks old. It's not advisable to separate them in such a young age.....

Thats all the details she provide plus the price of it lor, me not very sure where she getting from, only told me her friend. Haha, me juz got to noe this ger thru "myspace" one, she asking bout my rabbit n wanted to get one. I told her none of the people i know are selling then she show me dis pic lor. Oh ya she say its about size 4 shoe size. Funny thing is. she is just tinking of getting a pet, not knowing which kind, cuz she did ask "cat, dogs or rabbit better?", i same all the same, need hard work. me dunno much bout lops, i can only tell her lops need extra care to keep their ears clean. n their fur from mites. n their paws from hocks. should be correct rite arh? is there such thing as a small lop??? all baby lops are big rite?

jellybean > from ur post, i really dun think this gal should keep any pets, esp this bb lop. seeing the 1st pic, i also think the bun is about +/- 1 month old. but then again, it's still hard to tell, if we dunno the breed. like i mentioned b4, if bun is last 1 in the litter, it'll tend to look smaller and lighter. if u see my peanut and groundnut, u'll know what i mean. there are many types of lops. not all lops are SUPER big 1... but generally their size is about local bun size. u see puppy... he's an angora lop. but he's not as big as an adult local bun. it's really hard to tell. keeping lops are easy. i heard about maintaining the ears. but so far, i nv clean puppy's ears at all. the only thing i did is, everytime i bring to dr ling, i'll ask her to check puppy's ears for me. that's about all. keeping lops are the same as keeping other breeds. all buns can get sore hocks and fur mites. not only lops. what makes u think that only lops are more prone to get that? lops are rabbits too. all buns are prone to get that if u never really care about them. ur friend should read up more about bunnies, then decide whether to keep or not. also, ask her to bring someone who is experienced with buns with her to see the baby bun. since u dunno much about lops and buns, u should suggest ur friend to seek advice from a more experienced person. ask her to go HRSS and read up about buns. or ask her to join GT. at least we have more experienced members here to advise her.

puppy>> i gave her the link liao. hope she come in and ask before getting the bunny. i tried to tell her getting bunny is left time thing, cuz the pictures she show me of her "ideal" lop is all from puzzles kind one, those teeny weeny ones tat can squeeze into the cup one. i was like puuuleaaase , where can find this kind of lops in spore... so i guess becuz its cute then she wans. orh, bout the sore hocks hor, paiseh, cuz i tot lops heavier, more prone to it. is it caused by the weight also? so i tot other than the cage flooring not good, another factor is the weight lor. hee then mites i not sure, i just say dont let rabbit any how run on the grass cuz dirty. peanuts r the last to be born ar? does that mean their lifespan shorter??

from the way u say, i really think this gal is NOT READY for the committment. dunno whether she'll still love bun or not when bun grows out of his/her cuteness.
the buns from puzzles pics are usually young buns, about 3-4 weeks old. it's not rare breeds that sg dont have. all buns look like that when they are bb, no matter what breed. they'll grow bigger 1 eventually. i hope ur friend is not so naive to believe that the bun will remain that way forever.
if buns are heavy, regardless of wat breed, higher chance for sore hocks to occur. it also depends on what flooring the bun is on.
peanut is the last 1 in the litter. i dunno about their lifespan. but 'cause peanut and groundnut are weaned off at about 3-4 months old. i think they will be able to live longer. healthier mah.

peanut is not only smaller than groundnut... also lighter... eat lesser... but health wise, same... as healthy as groundnut. actu from pics, very diffi to tell. for those who dunno, peanut and groundnut are puppy's babies.

Aiyo... looks so tiny!!!!!!
If ur friend is really interested, you should advise her to be patient and wait for it to be weaned off first.

Yah some people will be too attempted to get something and will tend to overlook many consequences after they got it.
Just frighten ur friend by telling her how difficult it is to look after a bun if she doesn't has enuf time, money, knowledge, care, etc. If she still die die want to get, then advise her to get the bunny after it is weaned off.
And if she really get it liaoz, then u have to help her by providing her with more infor, and probably go shopping with her for bun's items lor.
